A few words about safety

Hello forum, have been a longtime reader and learned a lot from Bronco Nation. Bought my Badlands last year and have gone on numerous family trips with it, without having to ever as much think about the vehicle's crash safety. Have seen some threads about people hitting deer and walking away with zero intrusion into the cabin, so that's always impressed me. I was curious how other off-road capable vehicles faired against Bronco and was pretty surprised to see how truly awful the Jeep Unlimited Wrangler did:

Apparently this generation of Jeep surprised even IIHS when they started flipping on their side during one important crash test:

Aside from that, the Jeep also got a marginal on the side impact. The Bronco's safety ratings, on the other hand, are really impressive:

Ironically, the front of the Bronco looks like a Jeep after the impact. 🤣
You can really see the importance of the intrusion bars in this test, by the way, for those of you thinking about removing them. I'm surprised the side impact scored a "good" given how paper thin the doors sound, but am glad it did well.

My experience with the Bronco has been that she's a bulkier girl, slightly cumbersome on some trails, but I think I'm okay with that if the trade-off is such a stark difference in safety. Anyway, felt compelled to post this as I haven't seen anybody talking about safety as a selling point. It should be though, especially on a vehicle many people will want to take family trips with.

Thanks for posting, @Sulley. Ford didn't have to add the side-curtain bags on the Bronco, but they did. I feel confident in the Bronco based off the accidents that get posted/I've talked to owners about. Even the factory Safari Bar has prevented much more serious damage to the vehicle and driver. The Sport has done well with some horrible accidents, as well, including that roll down Black Bear.
