A couple of quick questions that I can't figure out

Constantly Learning

Hi all,

I am a new member, and I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

I just took delivery of my 2024 Bronco, and there are two things that I can't find reference to in the manual.
  1. I know it has a front camera, but there seems to be no way to turn it on. The manual alludes to it being operative only when you're off-road. Is that correct, or am I missing something?
  2. There is a covered box on the lower front. It has a secured cover. There is no reference to that it is, and the dealer didn't point it out to me. I have attached a photo for reference.

Any help with these would be very much appreciated.

There is a camera button to the right of the volume knob. The camera can only be turned on under ~10 mph in most GOAT modes, in Baja its on all the time.
The box is the sensor for adaptive cruise control, if equipped, if not it just a spacer.

I do have adaptive cruise control.

Can't thank you enough for the quick reply!

I think your trim model is an issue. On my Badlands, the front camera comes on (with the other 3, giving me a 360-degree view) when I'm backing at parking speeds (under 10 mph?), and stays on forward until I'm above 10.
Then there are the GOAT modes, and they vary depending upon my gear selection (4L) and, GOAT mode, and use of lockers.

You're going to have a lot of fun learning about all this!

Off-Roadeo is boot camp. Lots to learn (and do!) after that.
Join a Bronco or other off-road club or two and go out with them. First, you'll learn just by hanging around, asking questions, checking out their rigs. And I mean, even Jeeps. "What weight winch is that?....How do you like it? Why should I have bluetooth controls instead of a cable?"*
Second, you learn by watching them handle obstacles, guide you over them yourself, etc.
Third--if you break down or screw up somehow, you're with people who (hopefully) know what to do.**

Last, spend time exploring threads here and on Bronco6G. Lots to learn!

*You can stand further away in case a cable snaps and flies, as opposed to being close by with a wired remote.
**I had a ripped sidewall on a group run in New Hampshire. About 15 guys came out to change it--looked like a NASCAR pit crew in action! I've also changed my own flats in remote Utah, 40 miles from pavement.

There seems to be a North East Off-Roadeo group on here, but when I click the link, I don't get any information. I will keep trying to find something local.

I occasionally travel to Littleton, NH, ME, and parts of VT with friends. Available time is my enemy.
