88 B2 engine swap

here's a question for those of you familiar with the different year models.
i have a 88 b2 4x4 2.9l with 4 speed automatic.
will a 85 2.8l drop in and bolt up without a lot of mods?

Since your starting with 88 EFI and the 85 will be carb.... you will need to ensure all your sensors can mount to the 85 block. I wouldn't think it would be that big of a deal. Are you keeping the EFI?

From most of the bronco II research I did ... most guys are swapping in 4.0L from explorers to get a little more torque. I haven't heard anything good or bad about the 2.8l or 2.9l.

I have a little expereince with the 2.0l duratech that came on the Focus and they are friggin bullet proof.

the efi will go. sensors will go. primarily will the engine mounts and transmission bolt up without mods?
