40inch tires on a base model no sasquatch package

I could not believe my eyes when I saw an actual Ford dealership put 40inch tires on a base model no sasquatch package or gear mods.

Is this ok for basic city driving? I've been told this is a very bad idea. But, maybe that's with the assumption you're going mudding? Maybe its safe for city driving?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

I don't think I'd want to drive it let alone take it in a trail. I wonder if the tires rub? Any pictures?

I believe there's a ford dealer youtube channel that put 37s on a nonsas bronco but it had alot of rubbing. I don't believe
40s would fit without mods.

If this Bronco is never put into 4x4 it might be ok, since every Bronco comes with the Dana M220 rear axles, however if this person that will own this decides they are going to wheel this thing through Mud and Rocks, that could be a problem. Since the front axle is a stocked M190 it is not designed and intended for 40" tires, and it can not take a punishment like the M210 front axle that is stocked on the Badlands and a Sasquatch package. I have seen a video where someone tore up the front axle with 37s and it was not pretty, I can't imagine how much easier it would be to tear it up with 40" tires on it.

They should put a warning…

“Front axles and steering components prone to spontaneous disassembly.”

That’s insane. I mean… honestly… it’ll probably drive around the street just fine. It’s gonna be slow with that gear ratio and the fuel economy is gonna be horrific, but it’ll drive. Moment you take it on a moderately difficult trail or some rocks and it’s going to fall apart though.

Definitely take photos. Super curious if they replaced the upper control arms. If they didn’t at least do that then they have no idea what they’re doing.
