Eh, they goofed on that article.

Badlands options:
  • 2-door
    • 2.3L with 7-speed manual
    • 2.3L with 10-speed automatic
  • 4-door
    • 2.3L with 7-speed manual
    • 2.7L with 10-speed automatic

Manual transmission is still available on the 2-door.

Well, that's something. Ford should be adding Badlands 37" tire options with the HOSS 3.0 option - NOT taking away the V6 engine option.

Cheers

I'll bet you can buy a lot of 37 tires for the extra $40-50K of a Raptor.

Not to be that person here, but the info was put out by Laura a few weeks ago, and there’s more changes than that, so might want to check out her post about the YM25 😉

As per @RagnarKon, the 2Door with 2.3 and the manual transmission is still available. Many other changes are there though. One thing I noticed is that there is a small line at the top of the model description that will say “includes all features of the lower build” and then describe the new features. There were a couple of things on the Stroppe, for example that I did not think were included in it. That was until, I saw that it included all Badlands build items plus some additional items on top of it. It is definitely confusing. Add the media putting things out that are inaccurate, and it can really mess with someone looking to place an order.

Want to get really confused and annoyed? Go talk to the stealership. They don't know anything.

I was irate after they dragged me over there for a test drive and they only had more door mall crawlers with slush boxes after I told them I only wanted to test a manual. so
I asked the little sales chickie if they had any Bronco sports with a V6, said she would check 😄

The 2.7 doesn’t make your Bronco a sports car ok. Let’s not get carried away here. My Raptor feels like a dinosaur compared to my EVs and the 2.3 feels truly old school. Adding a manual would be cute but ultimately it’s just level 1 masochist signaling. At some point you’re too old for that.

Never to old for a manual.

Lol. Maybe you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the entire point of the Gen 6 Bronco to be "old school" (in a modern sort-of-way)?

That's why they let you manually shift the automatic, lol.

My 2.7 Ford Performance tuned 2 dr Sasquatch is no sports car is right but it is a seriously surprisingly quick 4X4 that doesn’t come with an umbilical cord. It’s the best we can get in this package.
