The last part for our spare tie rod parts kit has been difficult. OEM Ford Parts support & I have been working several days on this 'Missing Jam Nut' problem. The above illustration identifies the parts included in Ford's inner tie rod kit - part NB3Z-3280-D. However, the kit received doesn't include the jam nut on the right.

OEM now says this nut doesn't have a 'call out' or individual part number, and it's available only in the front steering assembly kit. Obviously, it's ridiculous to buy the entire steering assembly to get this jam nut. OEM says they'll follow up with Ford again, but isn't optimistic. Any suggestions??

Can't be sure, but think this nut must be close to a M16, fine thread. Guess Ace Hardware's my next option. Maybe we'll get lucky..

Couple pics for ya:

Here are the spare parts we have:

Here's the inner kit's part illustration for NB3Z-3280-D

Ace or an Auto Parts store maybe a Fastenal if you have one close. Also there will be a chance of using the original in a pinch as well depending on where the failure might occur. It should come off fairly easy I would think.
That's my $0.02

Thank you Sir! Yeah, Ace is da place. Found a jam style nut in M16 with 1.5 fine tread pitch. This nut fits Bronco’s Hoss 3.0 inner tie rod perfectly - WHOoo Rahhh!

Isn’t galvanized and may rust, but think we now have spares on-board.

I was looking at the same spare part to add to my kit. Did you get it on that oem ford spare parts site, for $135, or somewhere else for less. :-)

Yeah, OEM Ford Parts may not ship as fast, but will save a few bucks.
