Good Morning BN!
Received my 2024 Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch a couple of weeks ago. I want to change a few of the more annoying factory settings (double honk & auto start/stop). I have downloaded FORSCAN. The software connects to the vehicle but says that the "vehicle can not be identfied".

I am assuming that this is due to the 2024 model year and Forscan is not set up for 2024 vehicles quite yet. I am just wondering if anyone else had tried to connect Forscan on a 2024 and if they are seeing the same issues. Thanks!

Never mind I answered my own question. 2024MY not yet supported. 😔

Ford, Lincoln, Mercury models of 1996 - 2023MY (some models of 1994-1995MY are also supported). Attention: Some 2023MY Ford models may not be indentified (we work on it). FORScan may support limited set of functions and configuration parameters for brand new 2021-2023MY models (we work on it). 2024MY Ford and Lincoln models are not supported.

Good to know! We're annoyed FORSCAN has only their Lite & Viewer IOS versions. Heck, we haven't had a Windows computer for 25 - 30yrs..

Newest version of forscan works on my 24' Heritage, but auto stop start absolutely does not work. Everything else seemed to be good. Hopefully they figure out that one!

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! I will run the update and see what happens. I bypassed the auto start stop by disconnecting the switch from the battery. It causes a dummy light illumination on the dash but that to me is less annoying and I don’t have to worry about the start stop burning up the turbos (don’t care what ford says about that)!

That's cool. Did you pull a fuse up under the hood? Or do you disconnect at the dashboard? Thanks.

No it’s just a little electrical connector that ties into the battery ground. Just unplug the connector and it disables the start stop. Here is a picture. It’s not that good because I sealed mine off with shrink wrap and electrical tape to keep moisture out of the connector but hopefully it still helps you visualize what I am describing.

That's awesome. Looks easy enough. I am an electronics kind of guy. Here is my short list of forscan changes fyi: Lose: Double Horn Honk, Faux V-8 Engine Noise, Various Chimes. Add: Bambi Mode, In-Motion Nav, Rock Crawl Mode My favorite on this Heritage was losing the ridiculous loud exhaust noise piping through the speakers. Mine was louder than my Badlands or F-150. Now it is whisper quiet. I hate the faux engine noise. Good luck and thanks for the info!

Hey good news! I was able to turn off the start stop in forscan as well as turn off the double honk. In order to do the start stop you have to go into the PSCM rather than the BCMC. The BCMC has a start stop setting but that one is not the right one to disable. The one in the PSCM worked for me. Just letting you know that in case yours didn’t work because you turned it off in the BCMC. Running version 2.3.59 2024 badlands.

Just added the “Sport” GOAT mode to my Badlands. It is now all knowing. Fun mode, I see why the Wildtrack guys dig it!

Just be aware that disconnecting that plug disables the battery management system also. That is the module that communicates info relating to amperage use and state of charge so that the alternator can do its thing more efficiently.

Yes! I love the sport mode on my Badlands! One of the first things I did as well. Great for traffic jams and short hilly jaunts around town. Never use it for highway driving.

That's awesome! I will give that a try. I held off on unhooking the battery wire, after realizing it might create that error message op-up. Thanks for the info!!

Thanks for the info. I wasn’t aware of that but not surprised it is overly complicated. Since I was able to disable the start/stop through programming the connection has been restored. I will say that I did not notice anything different other than the dummy light illuminating when it was disconnected. Maybe the battery would wear out faster long term. Who knows. Batteries are cheaper than turbochargers.

Yes I think the only thing is it may cause premature battery failure. The AGM type batteries do not like to be fully charged. That is also one reason why they say to connect the negative lead of a battery maintainer or trickle charger to the negative connection at the fender and not directly to the battery terminal. The charge needs to go through the module so the BMS can calculate the batteries state of charge accurately.

Bit late to the discussion here, but what scanner did you use? I recently bought the ELM327 but new FORscan versions no longer support them.

Has anyone been able to add the "tow module" with Forscan?

Yes.... ish.

People have been able to get it largely working with Forscan by comparing and contrasting vehicles with and without the tow package. It hard to say it's working 100% without knowing exactly what Ford does on their end. But overall it's more tedious than difficult.

The official way is FDRS, which is the same software the dealership has, and you can also use it.

Good information.
One think I don't like is I am not able to change the connected cell phone when in motion. It sucks when my wife's phone is connected and I want change over to my phone on my 24 Raptor.
I have to stop the car, select my phone, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then my phone is connected.

I have forscan on a windows laptop. Would editing the nav while in motion also let me change phones in motion? or is there another place to allow changing phones in motion?
