After losing my Bronco Raptor due to the tractor trailer that was transporting it from Michigan to my dealer getting into a accident in transit and completely totaling my raptor exactly 1 month ago I decided to start looking for another Bronco Raptor to replace it even though I was given a new allocation with a " priority 01" code status. Since 2021 I have passed on 2 broncos that I actually spec'd out and had allocations for and now I have lost a bronco Raptor and I know this new order will probably not get built until the very end of 2023, maybe even early 2024. I really am not interested in going thrue the Ford ordering process anymore, as I have experienced it with 2 Shelby mustangs and 2 F 150 Raptors. So I decided to try to find a bronco Raptor on my own.

After spending the last month and alot of time searching for a bronco Raptor I came to the realization that finding even a used one at MSRP was not going to happen, and I refuse to pay over MSRP for any vehicle. So I decided to look at Badlands broncos and Wildtraks. After looking at ALOT of both badlands broncos and Wildtraks on the Internet and bring a trailer, I finally found a 2023 Wildtrak Fully loaded at MSRP ( $ 68,000.00) in RACE RED. Prior to finding this particular bronco I had also been researching the 2022-2023 Wildtrak reviews and I didn't realize that half way thru 2022 and so far all of 2023 the Wildtrak received some major changes = 3.0 hoss suspension, updated steering rack, and tie rod ends. Basically Raptor components. And as I kept reading and watching reviews it started to come to me that maybe a loaded 2023 Wildtrak might actually be the way to go for $ 22,000.00 less than a raptor. Considering everyone is calling it a " baby raptor" .

I was just curious if any of the forum members have experienced a Wildtrak with bilstein shocks, the updated 2023 Wildtrak with Fox Shocks, and a bronco raptor, and if you could please chime in and set me straight. I live on the east coast so there will be no desert racing and this will be a daily driver. And for those of you that own a 2022 or 2023 Wildtrak with the updates are you happy and are you using them as daily drivers ?

Is the Bronco Raptor really worth $ 22,000.00 to $ 30,000.00 over a Fox Shock Wildtrak ?

Any help would be appreciated !

Thank You.

Wildtrak is not a baby raptor. Wildtrak has HOSS 3.0, Raptor has Hoss 4.0 with 37" tires and that's just the beginning. The Raptor frame is completely upgraded as well as the bigger 3.0L engine. You get a lot more for the $20k. You couldn't built it for that.

But.... I would not buy a Raptor. It's far too wide for my daily driving.

Rapid Red was the color that was discontinued starting 2022, it was replaced with Hot Pepper Red Metallic. Race Red is available on all trims except the Heritage Limited and Raptor in 2023.

I have a '23 WT and absolutely love the HOSS 3.0. The Raptor is pretty cool but way overkill for my needs.

Just curious, are you using it as a daily driver ? How is the Fox 2.5 suspension over rough roads ? Did you have any experience with the Wildtrak with the bilstein shocks ? How is the wind noise at hiway speeds ? Build Quality ?

Well if your really concerned about value my 22 Black Diamond 2.7 Sasquatch was $21,000 Less than that $68,000 Wildtrak.
It also came with MGV, rubber flooring, rock rails, full bash plates, modular front bumper, steel rear bumper and tow package.
68k is a ton of money for a Bronco.

Not concerned about $ 68,000.00 for a loaded 2023 wildtrak with the 3.0 hoss package. Just like I have no problem with the price of a bronco raptor at Msrp.

As far as value, I love the raptor, but if you really break it down the true uniqueness of a raptor is the fox shocks, the wider frame, and the 37 inch tires. That’s it. The engine is from the explorer st, transmission is the same, and the 37 inch tires can be added to other bronco models.

At $ 30,000.00 less money, the 2023 wildtrak fully loaded becomes very intriguing.

First of all, I'm sorry you lost your Raptor before you had the chance to take it home. That had to be rough. I drive a Badlands and it's a lot of fun, but for comparison's sake, I have a friend who's got a 2022 Wildtrak with the HOSS 3.0 suspension and I can assure you that his Bronco corners better and absorbs surface irregularities better than my Badlands. It is a bargain Raptor, for sure. Considering your intended use, the Raptor may be overkill. It's an amazing machine in its own right, but the Wildtrak is no "consolation prize." The Wildtrak is a great trim level and as you know, can be configured with some incredible goodies right from the get-go. I hope this helps!
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

Thank you very much. That helps a lot !!!!! You’ve actually experienced both suspensions. After doing a lot of research that’s kind of what I thought. Unfortunately once you mention the name “ raptor “ people get very defensive. But I agree, I think based on what I’ve read the updated wildtrak is a “ bargain “ raptor.

23 hpr wildtrack, daily driver about 50 ish miles a day. It loves the interstate at 80 ish sometimes….. the roads here in Oklahoma almost qualify as off-road! I can’t and probably won’t justify the over 80k just to drive a raptor. The horse power would be nice but I am looking at the tune for the 2.7.
If they would sell a raptor at msrp my wife says she would love one!!!!

Sorry this happened to you. I know beauty is subjective, but good heavens I think the Bronco Raptor is ugly as mud. Both of them are highly capable machines and I have no regrets about reserving and ordering (and waiting 1003 days) for my Wildtrak. A Baja driver might be able to get more out of a Raptor than a Wildtrak, but given my driving style I would get no further benefit from a Raptor and its additional width would limit where I can take it here in Appalachia. The Wildtrak has more than enough capability for my upcoming desert adventure while being perfectly at home here in East Tennessee. I think you should take your driving style, planned use, and the dollars into account in making your decision. Best of luck.

I went back to try and look at my window sticker but they already removed it from there website. The price of $ 68,000.00 msrp is legit, it's not marked up. I do know it has every possible option on it you could get and it was built after the recent price increases. If you go on ford.com and build a fully loaded Wildtrak you will hit at least $ 67,000.00 and that's minus a few options.

My attachment was from Oct 2022 and is Wildtrak, LUX, Tow, MIC, etc. for $61. Ford must have recently did a huge price increase.

I was told at a dealership in AZ that some use Raptors as team vehicles to reach their drivers in the Baja if need be as it has everything you need from the factory to get you where you need to be. These can be extreme places with experienced drivers at the wheel. I have a friend who ran the Baja a lot in the 80's and he never had 4 wheel drive and a locking rear diff and I can tell you from riding with him he is one bad dude in the sand. Most will never use these current vehicles to their fullest. I am sure some will but I would guess it is a really small number. I like what you say about your riding style and what the Wildtrak can do.

I was speaking with my Baja friend and I told him I was getting a Black Diamond with the 2.3 auto which my dealer friend had in stock with the Roush R package and that is when he told me how he used to run and he said my current vehicle has all you need. Although I would love to have the 2.7 and while you are at it put my name on a Raptor...lol

on 2023 Wildtraks, HOSS 3.0 is standard.
