Hello everyone!
I love these Broncos but I'm having trouble deciding on what to buy.

My choices are between a 2022 Wildtrak 250 miles in a dark metallic gray or a 2021 1st edition in blue with 5k miles. Both are fully loaded and seem great.

Main difference is the Wildtrak has a soft top with running boards and the 1st edition is a hard top.

Both seem awesome
What do you guys think?

I’d be leaning toward the hard top, but that’s just my opinion.

There are so many factors that I think you’d need to do what is best for you as far as options and price..

1st edition has sway bar disconnect and will hold a better value. If you are paying Much more then MSRP you should do some more research.

I'd go with the hard top as a major benefit in numerous ways. But another factor would be the obvious price factor and which color you'd prefer. I assume they are both 2 or 4 door models. I have an FE and believe having the 2021 build and an FE will carry so much more value in the long run. The WT just has an extra Sport Mode that can be added by a "break-in" tool. One other thing - what interior do they have. I would have a very hard time seeing the Navy Pier in the FE daily. Yuck IMO.

They are both 4D and it's the "lightning blue" for the FE and "metallic gray" for the Wildtrak. I can see how the blue wouldn't always be well received.

Also what if I just got a hard top later?

Difficult to say when they’ll be available and price. Some people are estimating 2+ years and ~$7000.

There is one after market hard top that will be available soon but the price is $5-7000 depending on configuration.. but it’s a possibility.

Is the soft top really that bad? Are the ones currently being sold post recall?

I'm biased, but I would go with the FE. Approximately, 3,400-3500 4 door FE built. And, probably slightly less than a 1000 Lightning Blue Broncos, in any model built. Fairly rare vehicle - should hold its' value.

Knows the cheat code.

How do you plan to acquire this FE if you decide to go that way?
I am not the leader. I just like to go first.

If you are buying off the lot somewhere. I guess I would pick the FE. They aren't making any more of them and its like a Wildtrak and a Badlands had a baby. Plus I think that Lightning Blue > Carbonized Grey but that's my preference. If the question was ordering a Wildtrak vs. an off the lot FE, I would order the WT, get the Hoss 3.0 and pick a different color, but again, that is my preference. I guess in the end, its what is going to make you happy.

There are essentially 4 major vectors of difference..
1. Hard Top vs Soft Top
2. FE has the sway bar disconnect
3. Color
4. Price

I'm not sure anybody on these forums can answer how YOU feel about those differences.

2022 Wildtrak has better suspension? I thought they were the same

the Hoss 3.O is the optional upgrade suspension.

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/ford-bronco-wildtrak-hoss-package-raptor/
It uses some bits and bobs from the various raptors, gives you an upgraded steering rack, tie rods, and Fox shocks all around. HOSS 1.0 is the standard bronco suspension, 2.0 is the Sasquatch/Badlands set up, and 4.0 is the Raptor set up. 3.0 slots in there and sets up the Wildtrak as a Raptor-lite. That better fits how I want to use it.

I wasnt able to get an order in before the March cut off. Would it be worth it to buy a used FE or a marked up Wildtrak? They are about the same price off a dealership

I feel like you asked this question on 4/12. There are many comments above going over peoples thoughts. Ultimately, it’s your decision based on options you want and price you’re willing to pay.
