Ford Accessories has the slide out tailgate at 20% off this week in case any of you are interested.

I personally have been going back and forth on it all week long. I kinda want it... but at $1000 it is still fairly pricey. Anyone have strong thoughts on it either way?? I need to be saved from my indecisiveness.

So I have slide out tailgate in my truck. I like the setup and its plenty sturdy ( I have stood on it to secure stuff with the top back and there was no flex or anything). If you need/want a table on the backend of the truck, then this is a good option. What I really like about it though is the leveling with the passenger seats folded down. And the lift up does give you a touch more room for storage in the rear well.

The downsides are the cost, and it makes things like onboard door storage not work. The other thing I dont like is that with the soft-top, even with the back end tilted up, there is still a bar across the back that would keep you from sitting on it. Thats not an issue with the MIC top, and won't be when its top off weather, but it is not something I thought about when I was specing out my order.

A grand here is quite a lot of money though. One can buy some pretty awesome camp chairs and stow them in the back and still have walking around money left.

I cannot save you from you indecisiveness! When I had my YJ and a good friend had her TJ, we both had "tool boxes" in back. I took my back seats out. My friend made new mounts for her back seats so that they were on top of hers. But, I did have the top down on my YJ from April through November as I did not have AC in it. It was a good way to lock stuff down and keep it hidden.
But, from the picture, this only provides a pull out "table" it looks like. No extra storage. @Mal had a good point on the leveling it might provide.
It could be handy, but, that is a lot of money. But, everything is a lot of money!

Alright... after mulling it over all day I think I'm leaning towards not buying it.

Or... at the very least... I'm not buying it today. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

My brother had it in his Basesquatch and it is pretty nice. It does have some more storage not a lot but there is more than just that little cubby in the floor. You do loose the ability to store the doors onboard but I am never going to do that any way. I just have to see how many points I have.

I ignored it long enough to miss the deal. Success!!! Success??? Not sure.

Awhile ago as I was waiting for my Bronco to arrive I spec'd my dream camping setup, and the plan is to work towards that. The problem is the dream camping setup requires the purchase of an $22,000 trailer, so it isn't going to happen this year (or even next year to be honest).

The dream setup called for the cooler/refrigerator to be located on the trailer itself, but now I'm reconsidering that and thinking about putting the refrigerator in the Bronco instead. That will dramatically reduce the power requirements on the trailer and lower the price to around $17,500. (And now that I type this out... it will also give me the ability to travel without the trailer for shorter trips.) So I think that'll be a better solution all-around.

There’s obviously enough weight in this accessory that they don’t wish to sell it to Sasquatch drivers, so I think I’ll pass at this point. The cool factor is very high, but the cons outweigh the pros for me…

A set of HD drawer guides and a little forethought and a person can produce something that will will be attractive, functional, and much, MUCH less expensive

Definitely beats the $3k it was originally marked at! My favorite thing about this accessory is that it levels out the rear cargo area (hump delete). The added table is of course nice as well. I still have a good amount of Ford Pass points, too. Hmm...

The primary reason why I created the video was to help people who were looking at the constraint list, and thought "ahhh dang, Sasquatch is on there!". But I also knew there was a handful of people out there who disagreed with me, and I selfishly wanted to get their perspective on it.

Video ended up being more or less dead-on-arrival since Ford didn't allow manual transmission orders, but I'll probably bring up the topic again for 2024MY ordering... depending on what Ford does with pricing.

Uhhm can't help you - I don't even have my Bronco yet and this is in the garage waiting to be installed.

$1k is quite alot of scratch for something you're not sold on. For me the coolest thing is the look of a vintage tailgate but that wouldn't be worth the $
