2-door front cab is "bigger" than in the 4-door

This is an observation my brother made today and the dealer said they'd had multiple people say the same.

The location of the B pillar on the 2-door is behind the driver's shoulder allowing lots of shoulder and elbow room.

However, in the 4-door the B pillar is beside your shoulder and my brother being 6'-1" forced him to sit crooked and that's when he called me to say I screwed up by ordering one.

I had him sit in the 2 door and he immediately said 2-door good, they screwed up the 4-door!

I was only ever interested in the 2 door and that's what I ordered so I never bothered to examine the 4 door but after sitting in both today I have to agree with him. Unless you're at or below average height the 4-door could be too narrow.

None of the reviews that I watched, and I watched a ton of them, mentioned this!

I am happy with how the 2 door has the B pillar. I'm 6'2" and with the seat pushed all the way back the B pillar is behind my shoulder.

Just something to pay attention to before you order!

The cab isn't bigger it's all because the door on the 2 door is larger. I do agree with you though after driving the 4 door and owning the 2 door.... The 2 door pillar location is better for visibility. Same exact size cab though.

On the 4 door the position of the b pillar constricts the shoulders, and that's just not the case with the 2 door. The doors on the 2 door are wider with the b pillar farther away from the dash.

I no longer consider the 4 door as a viable option.

Sadly, I think for a 4 door off-roader the only remaining option is the 4runner.
