2 door dilemma

Looking to trade my 2018 raptor in for a nice 2 door bronco. Looking for aggressive look but staying on pavement so comfort. I’ve narrowed it down to a 2024 wildtrak with 354 lux package and 6 cylinder or 2025 badlands with Sasquatch, hoss 3.0 and 4 cylinder. Pros/cons
2024 2door wildtrak ($60k)
- 6 cylinder
- $5k less than a new build
- no new digital instrument panel, vents etc
- limited selection
2025 badlands custom order ($66k) pic above
-get exactly what I want
- new instrument panel, rear vents, charger
-4 cyl but test drove a 4 and no issues at all
-overkill since no off road but hear hoss 3 is better comfort driving on all surfaces
-12speaker b&o system& better roof insulation
Opinions? Saving 5 to 6K worth getting the 24? Shame there aren’t any more options in two door this year. Thanks

No brainer. The 2024 is 6 grand plus tax less. The 6 cylinder isn’t available in any 2dr other than a grossly overpriced (and ugly) Stroppe.
This engine in a 2dr is worth it’s weight in gold, and it’s value for exclusivity is priceless.

Hoss 3.0 and the V6 is standard on the '23 and later Wildtrak. We have a '23 2-door Wildtrak and the V6 in Sport mode is wonderful.

This is my 2022 Base. Upgrades at the time I ordered it are Sasquatch Package, 2.7 L V6, 10 speed auto with advanced 4x4, modular front bumper, Aux switches, engine block heater, rubber floor mats, door, and top storage bags.
It is comparatively weak on luxury, and strong on performance. MSRP was about $42K.

No rear vents in 2025 2 door., 4 door only. Wireless phone charger is gone completely in 2025.

The 2.3l is not a bad motor especially in a 2-door. Add the performance tune and it is pretty comparable to the un modded V6 in seat of the pants feel. A few less ponies but less weight too. Nothing like the Raptors 3.0l that thing is a beast. Also they got rid of the vacuum boosted brakes and switched to the hydro boost brakes like the V6’s. That is one mod I would like to do.😏

My vote is for the Badlands with the 2.3L.. Why? Well, because it has what you want. Sure it's $5K more but if it's what you want then I say go for it!

Also, because I have a 2.3L Badlands 2dr and I think you should get what I have. 😂

I have zero issues with the 2.3L and I off road it every few weeks. I also tow a camper with it.

I realize you said it won't be taken off road but you never know. Once you get the off road bug, there is no known cure! You can minimize the symptoms by going off road but as soon as you hit pavement, the bug is back! 😍

Unless they're being constrained, the 2-door is available in 2025 in the Base, Badlands, and Stroppe

That being said, the Wildtrak is built for speed (off-road) more than the Badlands, and I agree the v-6 in the 2-door would be hard to pass up…

Just double checking on the charger you listed for '25 Badlands: Do you mean something other than the wireless charger? Ford removed that as an option for the model year.

Exactly what you want though is worth the extra money if price isn't a problem. Have you gotten to test-drive both? I will say there were things I thought I "needed" in mine, like the heated steering wheel, that I haven't thought twice about not having once I started driving mine.

Either are great options; I love my 2-door Badlands with the 2.7L, so I know you'd enjoy that in the Wildtrak, but the 2.3 in the 2025 is still great and can be tuned easily.

Also keep in mind the 2.3 is different for 2025 (as compared to the 2021 thru 2024 models).

The 2.3 isn’t a bad motor but it will never equal the torque of the 2.7, and yes you can tune it as well. I’ve driven both and they are totally different animals. Ford doesn’t put a 2.3 in an F-150. That says it all. Tiny motor for 5000 pounds.

Agreed but it does give me 100 more hp than my 1984 with a 351 had and they weigh about the same, I am good with that, it gets me down the trails the same time as the 2.7 folks do.

Thanks for all the input. It really comes down to the 2.3 vs 2.7. I was given a loaner while my raptor was in the shop. It was a 24 Big Bend with the 2.3 10 speed. nothing fancy. I was impressed by the pick up and power and how well and fun it drove that I’m ready to dump the raptor. Now I’m leaning towards building my own and going with the 2.3 and if for some reason I find it’s not enough I guess I can tune it but I really have no problem with that loaner. Thanks again.

If you want to make it a tad bit more fun you could add the 7MT. just a thought.😈

I probably shouldn’t ask but WTH is a 7mt? I’m looking for the most aggressive look ( not overkill) without the extreme off road stuff like transfer case since I’m landlocked in Atlanta and no trails. I think the 3.0 fox suspension would be a plus for street use as I hear it’s not too firm but may be wrong?

No I get all that. Most all vehicles are way more powerful than years ago. All I’m saying is the 2.3 is the entry engine in the Bronco to keep the price down just as it is in the Mustang. But that doesn’t mean it’s the most powerful option for those who want more.
I sure wouldn’t want the 2.3 in my Boss 302 or my Bronco as folks like I enjoy the power even if it’s not utilized often.
To each his own.
Enjoy your trails…

I am sure you'll be happy with the 2.3L.. If I had to do it all over I again I get the exact same Badlands 2dr with the 2.3L.. No ragrets on my end..

Enjoy whichever you end up getting! 👍

I would get the cheaper more powerful one and spend less than the difference on fun extras like neat wheels. Or a rad stereo. Or suspension bits like springs or sway bars. Oh or fun fenders and lights.
