2.7L Oil Change using Ramps

I read in the manual the Bronco should be level when checking dip stick level.

I plan on changing oil on the 2.7L using ramps, which would pitch the front up 6 inches. Any issues with the oil reservoir not fully draining when the Bronco isn't on level ground? Weigh in on any thoughts.

Probably not a problem. I aways have to lift the front of my cars. I just replace with the recommended amount and add a bit to bring it up to max line on dipstick sitting on level ground.
I’m also in the 7 quart club. Dealer gave me the revised dipstick for free.

The oil will drain no problem…
Put in 6 qts…. Then check the oil on level ground after waiting 15-20 minutes for the oil to settle…

If you can… replace to used oil back into the oil containers and try to measure how much you took out….

Also… I like to check the level stone cold the next day… that is the best way to check your oil level….I usually get the oil between the max full hole and the twist… that is how my Bronco came…. Roughly around 6.5 quarts (depending how much you have drained prior)…

6 quarts should be right at the max fill hole… 7 the oil will be way up in the twist or past the twist…. Stone cold past the twist is too much oil. IMO

I too own the fancy revised dip stick … but use the original…

Didn't even check dip stick for new one. I read about oil capacity issues, but never checked. Thanks for all the tips. Sounds like no issues. Which one is the new one H or ^?

The one with the triangle on it is correct for seven quarts. Reads right at max mark.

Interesting. I'd like to see a YouTube on that.
