Got a check engine light and an immediate “diagnosis” on FordPass last week. 9200 miles.

Didn’t even bother with OBDI reader. Had a trip planned so it sat for a week in the garage. Dealer got it in yesterday and confirmed the failed actuator issue.

Part is on order - 4+ days was the status yesterday. Brought her home this morning to “rest” in the garage (no need to sit in the Arizona heat). Hopefully the part shows up quickly. The R&R is relatively fast. Hoping to depart for SW Colorado and the San Juan’s in a week but remaining optimistic and flexible.

Haven’t seen too many of these failures posted. Curious…

I know a 2.3 isn't a 2.7, but my wastegate failed on the drive home from purchasing it at the dealer.
Be glad you even have an estimate for that part - for the longest time mine was simply "no ETA," which unfortunately has been a recurring line in modern Ford ownership.

Hope it's resolved ASAP...

Thanks for the empathy and glad yours is resolved. I know it’s not a common issue. Just hoping the actuator is the real issue and the turbo unit is okay.

I’m a long term Ford guy so not throwing in the towel. I realize some modern components are prone to failure. Hoping for a good resolution.

I wouldn’t consider wastegate actuators modern.
