I am new to the forum but reserved 7-31-20. Originally reserved wildtrak with a painted black roof. Then switched to a Badlands with Sasquatch and 2.7 auto. Recently I stopped by the dealership and one of the salesman relayed that the 2.7 will have an option for a manual in the second half of 22. can anyone confirm this as well or is this complete bs.

The change I noticed was there will be a manual sasquatch in 2022, but it's still the I4 engine.

I can confirm this is B.S. No manual option for 2.7L no matter what package. At least not for MY22 and I would guess never will happen.

I have always had Jeeps that we’re manual. The last Jeep I owned 2013 with a v6 however was automatic and it was okay. I love driving manual. However I still think I am going to opt for the V6.

I did not think the salesman knew what he was talking about. Because many of us have been searching high and low for any leaks or info on these Broncos. Plus hard to imagine them adding more options when they can’t meet the current demand.

Agree with @Speed Devil, the I-4 is a solid engine. I personally am buying the I-4 and I have no concerns running it. Also worth noting that the Jeep V6 is a naturally aspirated engine. The Bronco's I-4 has a turbocharger on it... and because of that the performance will be similar to the Jeep V6.

Obviously the 2.7L Ecoboost V6 is a solid choice. But if you rather have a manual transmission and the only reason why you are not ordering a manual transmission is because you cannot get it with the 2.7L... then I personally would reconsider.

Jeep also offers an I-4 turbocharged engine on the Wrangler, but unfortunately you cannot pair it with the manual transmission. If they had I probably would be driving around a Wrangler right now instead of waiting for a Bronco. ;)

Still puzzled why they didn't offer 2.0t and stick, at least the "Tq Limit" for us not getting 2.7tt's/stick makes sense*... until tuners prove otherwise

I wonder how much less my 2-door manual I4 weighs than a 4-door V6 automatic. That might explain why it's not a dog at all when I put my foot down.

Wanted a manual, period. Thought I was forced to “settle” for 2.3L and 33”. Happy with the package. No regrets!

I think the 2.3 plenty capable for off-road. No concerns there, which is what we’re buying these for, right!?

Fortunate to have other cars if I want loud and fast!

iffin ford offered a MT, 2.7L ( or 3.5!) and 35’s, I’d consider it, probably :)

Just thought I finalized my order but many of you have me thinking of going the manual route. I literally went in today and changed my order to the v6 with a sasquatch package. I almost went 33’s and a manual. I have had this reservation since 7-31-20. Originally had the painted black roof but that will never be built. I have a gt 350 sitting in the gaeage so that is my manual fix. But I love driving manual and that is where I am stuck.

Can you find a dealer with one? That’s what cinched it for me. I drove a ranger with the 2.3 and 10-sp, to get a feel for the power. But until I drove a 2-dr, 2.3, MT demo at a dealer I felt unsure. Less plastic on the 2.3, MT combo too! Just look at that beautiful cast alum tranny!32337B78-89FB-4781-81C6-52D503F751CD.jpeg

Rev hang is usually engineered into port injected cars (where the fuel is injected into the intake manifold) with a manual transmission to burn off the excess fuel that's left in the manifold between gear changes, which works to reduce emissions. The 2.3L is a direct injection engine, which means fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber, so there's no fuel in the intake manifold to produce or require rev hang.

The fact that the 2.7L has port injection is the big reason I feel like Ford will never offer it with a manual transmission because they'd have to give it rev hang for emissions and people hate rev hang.

Chet thanks for the info. I know the 2.7 is found in the f150s and maybe that is the hold up in production as ford is pushing out their bread butter trucks at this time. I need to decide but maybe drive the 2.3 like Shoresy suggested. I drove the wild track with a 2.7 and it moved just the other day. It I need to get into the 2.3 and drive it.

The 2.7 is poor choice for a manual anyway, they have a nice NA V-6 that would be better with a manual box.You have to remember this is an offroad application not sports car.

Never say never.

Prior to the announcement 5-6 years ago, you would think that Ford would never bring back the Bronco but here it is.well somewhat. The success of other ford products in the past has been drive train choices, not being boxed in with one or the other. The base engine should be a NA V-6 with the turbo motors optional.
