Anyone interested in the engine cover for their 2.3L, here are the p/n's. It's the exact same one that fits the Ranger. Installed it on mine a few weeks ago, fits perfectly:

Engine Cover - L1MZ-6A949-A
Mounting Studs - W714647-S450B (qty 2 needed)
Nuts - W520201-S450B (qty 2 needed)

I dont get why you would want that? Is looking at the components of an egine that stressfull? Keep the hood closed if thats the case. I'm bieng snarky, sorry. I really dont see the advantages of doing this.

It does look more "complete" with the cover. What did it cost?

The cover itself was around $56, once I added the two mounting studs, tax/ shipping it was a total of like $75. The cover looks hard plastic, but it is actually like a Nerf football material.

How are you liking the Boomba bov adapter lol? Do you have a manual trans or auto?

"Complete"? Its only an asthetic thing and has no functionality to "complete" the engine at all. My experience with my Bronco is, it will restrict air flow and heat dissipation causing premature "heat" aging to components like hoses, lines and turbo tubes. Function over asthetics saves cost.

Makes the intake look better but for a hood I'll probably never open except to check the fluids I don't think I'll spend the money on it. Thanks for the info. And slownstddy, I see Bronco 6g's snarky know it all attitude has made it's way to this forum as well. I never said it did anything but make it look "complete" as in look like nearly every other motor out there...a cover over the top of the motor/intake. Where in my post did it say anything about functionality???

It's great... not much for performance, more for just the Whhoooshh sound. Under load, between shifts its cool. The more you spool the turbo, the louder the Whhooosh sound.
Yes, I have the 7 spd manual. For $80 I figured I'd do it. Completely reversible later on if I get tired of it.

Well to put this to bed, I only posted this because I have seen so many people complain about how un organized the engine compartment looks on the Bronco. I personally am super anal about routing/clipping hose rubbing ect, AND appearance. I am heavily modifying my Bronco, taking a different approach from the standard 2" hockey puck lift and 35's. I opted for performance mods first.

My long term plan is a Coyote/ Tremec swap, but I am doing little things along the way for ascetics/ fun. Just posted for those interested.

The heat absorption issue on turbos is obviously still an issue, not as bad as the Buick 3.8's in the 80's but still a concern. Let it warm up before driving, when you get a few miles from the house, dont drive it like you stole it, let it idle for a min before shutting it off, and if super hot, pop the hood... old school turbo knowledge
