2,3 L 4 cylinder...what do you think

Hello everyone. I have a couple questions and am hoping that some of the seasoned members here could help me out.

What does those with the 2.3L 4 cylinder turbo think about their engine? I've driven the 2.7L which has plenty of power. I am not in need of a speed demon and based on the engine specs, I believe the 4 cylinder will work fine for me. Any comments would be appreciated.

Also, based on the constraints with certain models, options, etc, what would this order look like or its chances for a production date within the next three of four months.

2-door Outer Banks with 2.3L, blue, roof rails with crossbars, key-less entry pad, lux package, leather, modular front bumper, brush guard, auxiliary switches,. I opted for a couple other items that I will have dealer installed such as the trail tow package.

I tried to make the order with what I really could live with. Although i would rather have the 2.7L, I believe the 2.3L might work just fine - therefor I wait to hear from others with this engine.

Thanks from Dallas/Ft. Worth.

I drove a 4 door sasquatched big bend with the 2.3... I did not know what motor it had in it, so I assumed it had the bigger since it had plenty of power. I drive a Turbo Diesel truck, so I understand the slight lag on the front end of taking off in a turbo driven engine. My surprise was how quickly the engine spooled up and took off. I can not possibly see how you could be disappointed in the build you have planned for yourself. If you get a non-sasquatched build, I think it will be even more Peppy... Depends on the gearing...

I'm not a speed demon either, but I like to be able to sometimes go 80 plus on the highway and pass when I need to. I have a 2.3L Big Bend manual and with about 3000 miles on it and lots of highway driving, I'm very happy. I've never felt that I didn't have power and torque when I needed it.

I think you will love that setup
I ordered a badlands 4 door with sasquatch and 2.3 manual transmission. I think I will be fine even with more weight. I just think my fuel milage will be poo

With the 2 door the 2.3l will be great. I drove a 4 door BB with a level kit and 35” tires so it should be the worst gearing and weight and I felt the Bronco had plenty of power. It actually surprised me a bit. The motor has plenty of power all through the power band and the turbo doesn’t sneak up on you like my 2.0 t equinox that sucker will spin the tires with anything under 30 mph and you light that turbo up.

And not to scare anyone but there have been a few reports of the 2.7 sucking in a valve. Probably jumping timing or something. I have not heard anything with the 2.3. Granted I suspect there are more 2.7s out there but…

I'm actually having Sasquatch rims and 35" Toyo A/T III's with a 2" zone lift installed this week. I have manual so the final drive ratio is 4.46, versus 4.7 on the Sasquatch or 3.73 with the automatic non Sasquatch. I'm in over my head on this conversation now, but do you think I'll notice much of a difference in how it drives?

You might notice a slight decrease since you have been driving it and you have a comparison. But I don’t think it will be enough to take the lift wheels and tires off. I think you will like the higher ride.

I had the opportunity to drive 2 4dr Bronco Big Bends with the 2.3 back to back. One had the sasquatch package and one without, both automatics. They both felt like they both had plenty of power.

I haven’t gotten my 2.3 Bronco yet, but our 2.3 Ranger Lariat was great to drive, and very dependable over three years and over 50k miles.
