This is just to share a journalist's experience with the Bronco Raptor, not hate on it 😛 (even though you guys may know I love my Cherokees even still). Sad there's no video. Would you have needed the older couple in the vintage jeep?

As a Bronco enthusiast I should be saying that my favorite compact SUV is the gen 1 Bronco (or the Bronco II). But if I'm being honest... I don't have any personal connection to the gen 1 Bronco—always been more of full-sized Bronco person.

So even though I fly the blue oval flag... I have to fully admit the Jeep XJ is my favorite compact SUV of all time. And yes, I'm still sad what Jeep ended up doing to the Cherokee nameplate after the XJ was retired. Not quite as bad as what Chevy did to Blazer—but it's close.

Anyway, the article reminds me of a recent video I watched on YouTube. Long live the XJ.

Also... the graphics package on the cactus gray Bronco Raptor doesn't look bad at all.

Yep! And it's also ok to get out and walk it to check it out even if you're with someone.

A travesty for sure. Out of pride, I now have to qualify when talking about mine: "Jeep Cherokees ... the older ones."

Having once discovered an unknown natural spring in an International Travel All (think 4x4 Suburban for the under 50 crowd), I would gladly accept help from the Jeep or in my case the backhoe extraction that ultimately freed the beast.

Given the new wisdom that resulted from that adventure, I now stock recovery gear and walk/probe unknown soft areas so I might not have needed the Jeep.

I have also found the leader of the group usually finds the deep spots, so I am happy to follow and recover rather than lead and get recovered.

I love the Travel All.
I know a guy him and his son are putting a 6BT (12V Cummins) and an Eaton 5 speed into a Travel all.

if you do it right you can get anything stuck. I have seen plenty of dozers stuck.

The 72 Travel all was the original box on wheels. No insult intended, but it reminds me of a 4 door Bronco. Clean lines and nothing like the new over styled transformer look that has taken over (looking to you Colorado & Tundra).
