“Brightness” display on cluster - what is it for?

Last week, a screen popped up that I have never seen before, and I have no idea what it means.
It said “Brightness” and showed a “dim bulb” on the left then a bunch of dashes and a “bright bulb” on the right.
It stayed up for a few seconds then went away.
AFAIK, I wasn’t doing anything to activate it - I wasn’t pressing any buttons.
Anyone else see this before?

Your knee may have hit the cluster display brightness switch—it's happened to me a few times. The control is in the lower left corner by the headlight switch.

No way you did it with you knee. I can barely find the buttons with my index finger. Lol.
No salt tram towers were harmed in the making of this post...
