Well you just F'd yourself. You should have just ordered the stock Big Bend . Ford let's you build your ultimate Bronco , as long as it's a stock Big Bend with no luxury items , 35" tires or other nonsense.

Technically Ford only wants boring base broncos ordered to build with a soft top so less labor involved with the extras

I figured something was up with the MIC top when 99% of all the video footage was Broncos with softtops on the pre-production vehicles. I was hoping I was wrong. I would be interested to know if it's materials they can't get, leaky tops, design issues, worker shortage, or the company just not able to keep up. Not that it would make any difference, but just curious.

I owned a vehicle accessory business for 20 years and we installed a ton of sunroofs back in the 90's thru the early 2000's. We used Stretch Forming roofs and never had any issues but the few Webasto brand roofs we tried were cheap junk back then. It might have changed since I closed shop back in 2008 but when I heard Ford was using Webasto I cringed .

My small dealer also made me initial that I may end up with 23 model. I thought it was some CYA about my deposit, but perhaps they already knew...

A month and a half ago they took over, so they knew weeks or months before that?

So, for a year (give or take) they sat on their asses watching it implode and knew it would screw them in the long run. Strong work Ford, talk about mismanagement there

Maybe 6 weeks ago they realized that a company that was supposed to build a part for them was mismanaged and weren’t gonna be able to come through on their end of the deal. So Ford bought the company and basically had to try and get it right. And what do you know, oh shit we are screwed! Does anyone have any idea of how many companies are even out there that can make these tops? I have no damn clue

Ford did not buy Webasto. When a tier one supplier to an automaker really screws up they can come in and take control over their part of the operation. The other clients interest will run as normal. As far as I can tell this plant was built to solely provide tops for the Bronco so Ford has probably taken full control of that one plant but does not own it.
