I'm assuming its all guesses at this point, but what are thoughts about switching from hard to soft to move up in line?

I've thought about it, but once I was told that the prices would greatly raise and wait times for a hard top being unknown, I decided to leave my build as is with the MIC top.

Lots of folks report getting scheduled shortly after making the switch, but I dont know how much correlation there really is. MIC tops are still getting scheduled, just not at 100%. My impression is that dealer allocation, where you are in that list, and buildability is much more controling than the top or not. We are waiting on the hardtop. I mean at this point, whats 1-18 more months....

I'd just say how bad do you want/need a MIC? if you don't need one for a good year or 2 and are ok with paying $3500+ later then go for it and you probably will get it quicker.

Would you be ok if the hard top cost 7,800.00 instead of 3,500.00 ? Isn’t it all I guess at this point ?

I don't need to worry about a hardtop as I'm sticking with MIC as a softop is already available to get fairly easily and I'm 45 min from BesTop. I think $3500 is probably on the lower side once they become available as there is little demand for them at this time in the game

Better check the threads where snow is blowing in the soft tops before you decide.

I also gave it some serious thought - and it continues to pop into my head almost every day. Reservation date 7/20/20, conversion date 2/1/21 and then converted to MY22 on 10/15/21 ,and I still have no idea when it's getting built.. .4 door Badlands Sasquatch Luxe 2.7 MIC... I might never get it

Any clue where you stand on your dealer`s order list and allocations?

I made the switch to soft top (and dropped tow package) last night, I've got a Badlands lux, 2.7.

I don't need a MIC top nor tow immediately. I know the aftermarket will provide tow hitches and I live in CA so a soft top is perfect to have as we head into spring. As far as getting impatient, with spring and summer coming up quickly, I wouldn't mind having the Bronco a bit earlier versus waiting, quite possibly until the end of the calendar year. Life happens fast and I'm eager to get out and enjoy the trails and road trips. Fortunately, I don't need the Bronco as I have other modes of transportation.

That said, here's some numbers to mull over: I'm about number 60 on my dealership's order list and they get allocated anywhere from 15 - 19 Bronco's a month. My dealer is optimistic that my build may be get scheduled fairly soon since I have an early reservation date (07/17/2020).

Will keep y'all posted!

Dealers are starting to get their allocation numbers for the rest of the year. And it isn't looking good. My dealer has several hundred unscheduled reservations and orders. Their allocations for the rest of the year are 56. I ordered with no reservation at the end of December. So I am looking at 2024 I'm sure. I don't think much can help anyone at this time. It's all pot luck anymore. Just stick to what you really want. It's probably going to be a long wait no matter what.

Depending on pricing levels the hard top for a four dr will be upwards of $6800 plus shipping. That's as it stands now unless Ford drops the pricing on them when they're available to order.

Reserved around July 22nd 2020, ordered February 2nd, 2021. Badlands, 2.7, MIC, Tow, Lux, leather. Dropped the tow to a dealer add on and moved to soft top in early August 2021, got scheduled within a month, built 11/8 and delivered 12/11. After enjoying the soft top few weeks we decided to not worry about adding the hard top unless they end up reasonably priced some years from now, and simply used our Ford Pass points to defray about 80% of the Bestop Trektop, which should be in shortly. Now, there's nothing wrong with the factory top to me, we just like the Trektop looks and how a larger section of the top flips back. Note - we had more than the typical Ford Pass new vehicle order points and early reservation points to cover the new top costs, normally the points from purchasing would only put a small dent in it. Without the extra points we would have stayed happy with the factory top. Plus, this is not a daily driver for us,.

Damn, that's a great story. Glad to hear you've been enjoying your rig for a bit! Hoping I hear some good news in a few weeks.

They have not yet. However, part numbers are published so all is takes is a little rough calculating to get a ballpark figure. Now, that can always change as Ford updates part numbers/pricing from time to time.

When you say their allocation is 56, is that for the rest of the year or for each month for the rest of the year?

I was a day 2 reservation - and #42 at my dealer in terms of allocation. Switched tops in Sept - had a VIN October 4th. So switching moved me past a lot of folks not just with Ford, but way past many at my dealership. IF you can hold off do it - I have the Soft top now in Seattle - and its not the most convenient thing in the world with all our rain. Its also very stressful having that top in the city with all our car break-ins which is a real concern even with the cargo security I have. It all boils down to your level of patience - if you want it sooner - 100% certain soft top if faster - but there are tradeoffs - all depends on your personal situation.
