My current order is with a dealership I am not entirely confident in. They are the lowest markup within an hour of my home (+1k), but they took forever to actually place my order and communication has been painful.
I've been thinking about putting a second order in with a more reputable dealership that is about 2 hours away, but I don't want to cancel my current order and lose whatever progress I have made in the seemingly infinite line to get one.. All of that being said I am thinking about contacting this other dealership and placing a backup order with them. Maybe somehow it gets filled with them first, or maybe this other dealer really is bad and tries to screw me over so I at least have a running second order to fall back on.
Has anyone tried this or know of any potential issues it could create?
Okay so a few things to address...
1.) Order banks closed on March 7th 2022, you can no longer place a new order for a 2022 - you would have to wait for the 2023 order banks to open later this year in summer.
2.) I have
three orders, yes, three. 1 Base 4 door, 1 Base 2 Door, 1 Big Bend 4 Door with MIC, Tow, Manual and LED. You can certainly place more orders theres no issue. One of mine is built today, the Big Bend is scheduling now and im waiting on the base 2 door.
Unfortunately you are stuck with this dealer if you want your 2022, you could take it, and reorder for 2023 and trade it toward that.
