Hey all, I'm at that point in my build where I need some inspiration as to what to do with my mid-dash, trans tunnel, console area. I will be running cable twin sticks from JB Fab, and a cable floor shifter. I know that I want to do some type of removable access panel on the Driver's side so I can get to the trans and t-case linkage. The rest is pretty much a blank slate though... Please post pics of what you did to your mid dash, trans tunnel and console area. Thanks a bunch!!!

I have nothing to offer of any substance, only encouragement haha, but that looks like a cool project. Maintenance access is always a great idea.

Good thinking with the access port, I wish I had done that. The ultimate plan for my build told me what I needed to do, that did not always work, but it let me know what I needed to do. As an example I added a 1” body lift for the trans. Where I missed the boat is the new cross member did not allow me to clock the Xfer case for the planned twin sticks, which are now on the shelf, and available. Making your plan will guide you, plan well! Oh a way to run wiring from your dash to a console is a thought.

With the cable shifters you have a wide range for placement of the shift levers. I would start with where you want the shifters for easy and comfortable reach. Then build the console around them.

What transmission are you going to use? I don’t have any pictures that are inspirational. I just have the Duff/Hurst floor shifter with a 3 speed.

You will want to mockup your seats too, just to see how everything lays out. Measure twice cut once....

4R70W with a U.S. Shift Quick 4 stand alone controller and a Lokar Floor Shifter.

Got some more work done on this project. The tablets will be using the Torque Pro app to display gauges and data....75327054_2470192873271108_8419735720815755451_n.jpg106532923_910027449502089_9049194676485748715_n.jpg106300857_3708768855819230_961519209117113542_n.jpg106720670_292422115275507_1636148561687682494_n.jpg106302553_891042118060428_7927522828874523012_n.jpg

And then started in on the console which will hopefully match the dash in style using the aluminum panels.....107502199_728861541211810_3334400069005274429_n.jpg108843366_1142696082781520_1325787260340443559_n.jpg107731652_1458376554363367_1685540787328681683_n.jpg107839439_1215256748814423_3164685568798278675_n.jpg

I run the 4r70w with the locar floor shift ( cable ). Plus a set of Jon's twin sticks. With the cable you have some options on placement. The key will be getting the cable in a position where it will be happy. I run the twin stick thru the stock shifter hole. My trans shifter is over to the right and even with the other shifter. I used a very long cable so I could bring the cable around from the back.. With this routing there was no need to get into the trans and install the locar provided new shift lever. Hey it works. The twin sticks install per directions. Looks like you will have lots of options with the console you are building.

I was gunna say a plate like U have 4 ur steering column but then keep scrollin'n C U've gone well beyond that.
I think U lost me when U took out the i6.
Sompin like some bigger usa rigs and some foriegn. They have a plate that (sometimes even has a bend so's the top AND side) can B removed for access to both X-fer & transmis. Still got the boots & estucasions on it tho.
