I'm embarking on a two-month roadtrip with my 2-Door Big Bend Rig

Left Michigan around noon and drove 9-hours until I hit Des Moines, Iowa. This photo was in Brooklyn, Iowa and thought about this song from the Beastie Boys.

Bike and motorcycle stayed on with no issues even though it rained basically the entire time. Fuel Economy (2.3 engine) averaged 17.6 mpg and was actually increasing the longer we were on the road.

Made it to Colorado (this is where I grew-up and where my mom and sister live) so my home state. First stop, my mom's house to unload, then tacos.

Maybe head back thru Oklahoma on your way back ?

I've done both Immogene and Black Bear pass before but on motorcycle, never in a vehicle. I'm down in Durango towards the end of May for a bicycle race so I'll check the snow conditions and see if the passes are even opened yet.

This is starting off to be an Epic trip. And those Tacos… you are welcome to swing down to Texas no trip is complete without a trip to Texas. LOL

That's true I did not think about that, more than likely they're not open, but it was a nice thought.....

I go to Texas every few years (family in Kingswood) and I'm an F1 fan so try to hit up Austin every year.

If you have your back seats down and you have a second could you measure from the back of the front seats to the tailgate area?
I ordered a two-door big Ben (race red)
and I'm hoping I can get my mountain bikes in the back with just taking the front wheel off.

I assume you have the back loaded with gear. Did you take your seats out or just fold them down?

For sure check out his TikTok as you'll see all the little irritating things he deals with.

Oh and to deal with that A/C plug problem get one of those flat extension cables that is a 90 degree plug on it that swivels. They have some pretty sinny ones that you could rig into that spot.

Just following. Outside chance we could meet along the way. Reminds me of a similar trip I did in the summer of 1970. Hope you go home with the same great memories I still have from 52 years ago. STAY SAFE out there.

I assume you have the back loaded with gear. Did you take your seats out or just fold them down?

I was going to remove the rear seats and build a platform but honestly ran out of time. While I wish I built it, I had no issue loading up the back with everything I needed.

While the 4-door would have been much more practical, the 2-door looks so much better IMO
