Yearly gathering of all bronco lovers any year to meet and take over the sand dunes!! Anyone is welcome.

I've heard from a good source Ford will be bringing Broncos to this event. I have not heard if they will have ride a longs.:cool:

I created this event for the Bronco Takeover group. I had heard this also, but wasn't going to mention it until I knew for sure.

TY @Deano I wanted to hop on this thread and watch for updates. Gotta get my ferry ticket and join the fun. Although I don't own a bronco... yet. My very first vehicle was an '84 Bronco II. Do those count? LOL

Yes, in my book they count. You've done better than me since I've never owned any type of Bronco before. When I was a snot nosed kid I tried to buy a used '78 but the bank didn't seem to like that idea. lol

@David @Laura - Any news if Bronco Nation is officially going to set up shop here? This event is coming up quickly and we still haven't heard officially if Ford will be bringing the new Bronco. Hotels are expensive in that area so if Ford isn't showing up, I don't want to spend the money.

The weather looks really good for tomorrow. Mid 70's will be absolutely perfect on the sand.

My wife and I had an awesome time at this event but it didn't exactly go as planned. The actual get together and cruise with all the Broncos (prior to hitting the dunes) were early morning on Saturday which we did not get there early enough to get pictures of all the cool rigs. So I'm sorry I can't provide you with a bunch of pictures. I had never been to Silver Lake before and I really didn't know what to expect, but I can honestly say it was much cooler than I could have imagined. There were so many different sand rails, motorcycles and 4x4s all over the OVR area. There were a few signs telling you which direction to go but mostly it seemed to be a free for all. You definitely had to keep your eyes open for others and always looking for the orange flags.

Ford brought 4 Broncos with some of the Ford engineers driving them. They were not giving rides but I had arranged for my wife and I to get a short ride in one of them through an old friend. The short ride ended up being several hours long although it seemed to go by way to fast. I never got to drive (nor did I ask) and we were both in the back seat the entire time. I know you've heard it quite a bit, but the ride was unbelievably smooth. My wife commented that she thought the ride would be really jarring on her back but was amazed how comfortable the ride was. Also no complaints on the rear seat comfort either but I probably wouldn't have noticed if there were rocks we were sitting on. We were in a Wildtrak with a hard top and leather seats. The roof panels were off the entire time so can't comment if they made any noise or not. The hills there are much higher than I would have thought and the Bronco had no issues with any of them.

Here is a picture of a '77 that was near we were standing waiting to get picked up for our ride. I never saw the owner but it was one sweet ride.

My wife and I. She also had a blast which was a relief. She is all in on the Bronco and can't wait till we can go back to Silver Lake with our ours.

@Deano Bronc next year we will be cruising this in our broncos. Unless you hold off for a MY23.

What will you be driving?

Would love to make the trip but not sure it'll work this year. Will see what happens

The dates this year are Aug 5 & 6. I’m trying to swap weekends at work so I can make it.
