This is the Q&A thread for the week of 14 DEC 2020. Please post your questions about the 2021 Ford Bronco here.

Questions that have already been asked and have been added to the question bank can be found in this thread: https://community.thebronconation.com/forums/threads/bronco-weekly-q-a-for-week-of-07-dec-2020.2541/

Update on the question poll from last week:
Questions are still with Ford. We are also looking at some ways of moving beyond just 5 questions a week. Understand that this Q&A process will evolve but our central goal is remaining the same: provide a reliable channel of communication between Ford and the Bronco community.

Answered Questions from Last Week:
QuestionAnswer
Manual sasquatch is still not in the B&P, what gives?Sasquatch on manual transmission Broncos has been pushed to the 2022 MY.
Any manual lumbar adjustment on seat? Both powered and manual seats have lumbar adjustments.
Is the B&P accurate with no manual and Squatch combo on the Base even as late availability? States can't pair Advanced 4x4 with manual on Base?Advanced 4x4 is available on Base as part of the Sasquatch Package. The Sasquatch Package requires an Automatic transmission until the 22MY.
What date will we be able to convert our reservations to orders?Mid January
Will the electrical and washer connections for the hard top be included if only a soft top is ordered? No only hard top, and the late availability dual top trucks will have those connections.
The Bronco used for the second how to video, did that have the headliner or not?It did not have the sound deadening headliner.
Have we heard the rating on the 12V outlets?
Also, are they two prong or three?
There is a 150 Watt plug that comes as part of the Mid Package with three prongs, and the fuse is rated to 40 A. The 12V auxillary power points have fuses rated to 20 A. When you switch the Bronco on, you can use the socket to power 12 V appliances with a maximum current rating of 20 A. Ford doesn't recommend using the power point over the vehicle capacity of 12 V DC 240 W or a fuse could blow. In total, the Bronco provides 400 watts when in park and up to 300 watts when in drive mode. This wattage is divided between multiple outlets when in use at the same time.
What's up with no soft-top for two door Broncos? There will be a dealer installed accessory soft top that will be available for order at launch. It's made by Bestop and will be a full weather tight top.
The four-door Bronco's length is listed at 189". Does that include the spare tire protrusion past the rear bumper?189.4 inches includes the spare tire.
LED tail lights...Available with Outer Banks and up trim levels only or will they be a part of the signature lighting on the Big Bend?LED taillights come standard on Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrack, and First Edition.
LED taillights are a part of the Signature Lighting option that is available on Big Bend.
Will we be able to order the Advanced 4x4 System on the Base and Big Bend models without the Sasquatch package? No.
Will the electrical connections for a hardtop be pre-installed on a Bronco ordered with a soft top? Or, will this need to be added separately? No, they will not.

Will the manual transmission be a hydraulic clutch or cable?

Will you remove the blue accents from the Outer Banks and Wildtrak interiors. Nobody likes them and they don't go with anything else in those interiors and clash with most exterior colors.

Will you give us better (in focus and not washed out) pictures of all the interiors especially Navy Pier.

What are the dash top surface materials? Are they soft touch with texture or hard plastic?

What material is used on the back of the rear seats and cargo area on the MGV interiors?

Two color related questions:

1) When will professional interior pictures be available for all trims and interior colors?
2) Will dealers have paint and interior samples available when ordering begins?

This one is being worked on, no date to announce yet. Some interiors have not been available for shooting.

So when I said that the process for how Bronco Nation Q&A will evolve, I meant to say that we'll have a video coming out on our YouTube channel with Bronco Brand Manager, Esteban Plaza-Jennings, answering questions from the forum. The video will premiere tonight at 7PM Eastern. We'll include a full rundown of the answers from the video here.

How do we get these? I thought The discussion was about having the credit card and just charging more money over the delay time thus getting rewards.

part of the announcement about the most recent production (and ordering) delay made reference to some kind of token of appreciation that would be given to reservation holders, in the form of added RewardPass points to use towards the purchase of accessories. :)

Bronco Specialists & Dealer Principals,

We know customers are excited to get their new Bronco and we are committed to delivering a high-quality product as soon as we can. We are announcing soon a timing change driven by COVID 19 challenges that some of our suppliers are experiencing. The timing changes are listed below.

  • Order bank open will move from December to mid-January
  • Order conversion window will shift to mid-January through March
  • Initial 21MY dealer allocation forecasts will now be provided in early January (ahead of the order bank open).
  • Manual transmission with Sasquatch package is now planned to be introduced late next year as a 22MY option
  • Customer deliveries will begin in Summer 2021
In addition to these timing changes the team continues to actively listen to customer requests and as a result we will offer a new black interior to First Edition customers (more details to follow).

To thank our Bronco reservation holders for their patience we have created a customer appreciation program which will provide FordPass Rewards points for use towards the purchase of Bronco accessories.

A customer communication with these timing changes and details about the FordPass Rewards offer will be forthcoming, however we wanted to ensure you were aware of these changes first.

If you have any questions, please email
[email protected] or contact your Ford Regional Management Team.

Sincerely,

The Ford Bronco Team

Why no soft top or running boards on First Edition? Earlier there was a statement that you would be able to order both a hard and a soft top. Running boards also needed for those of us with disabilities.

The video raised an important question regarding dealer allocations. He stated several times that a dealer's available allocations could effect the build date if the dealer didn't have enough allocations to fulfill reservations. He didn't provide much detail on this works.

Hypothetically, let's say I reserved with a dealer with 10 allocations for MY2021. My reservation is the last of 15 reservations this dealer's assigned customers hold. Since the dealer only has 10 allocations for MY2021 does this mean I will be waiting for a 2022 model year?

I have a reservation and I want a manual transmission with the sasquatch package. Since this combination has been pushed to MY2022, will I still be able to place the order when the order banks open with my current reservation? I don't care about the wait, I just want to make sure I can place my order.

Will reservations not filled until 2022 be 2022 model year?

Is there a plan for new models in 2022, i.e. raptor model?

Will Ford be permitting their dealers to charge a dealer premium for reservation holders?

Can Ford please make the electrical and washer connections available if only a soft top is ordered? The news on roofs has been 100% negative so far. Many, like myself, are planning on a soft top initially followed by a mod top when available. Not having those connections is adding insult to injury.

Only one concern for me: is the hardtop Bronco going to be well insulated for winter conditions or will it need winterization like competitors?

We'll pass that feedback onto Ford. We understand and sympathize with the sentiment. However, we'd like to keep the thread focused questions as opposed to requests. We will pass that request on though.

This is a good question. Hard top care on Bronco hasn't been talked about much.
