Bad start to my Vacation

Well, I was heading to work for one more day before I start my road trip to Tennessee from Massachusetts and a semi sideswiped me on the offramp of route 90 to 495. Best thing is after that he kept on trucking and I followed him trying to get him to pull over and he ignored me. I drove for about 3-5 miles before I had to stop. My steering is off by about 15 degrees and both front and rear fender flairs are gouged, beauty ring is black from burnt rubber. Going to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can straighten the steering so I can leave on friday.

Yep,
Driver has like screwed himself for leaving.
GPS will show his/her entire route and what time.

Don't get me wrong,
Trucking is a tough damn job.
It’s a different day in time nowadays.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall the day you call it in, see what happens to that driver

what sucks is I used to have a dash cam it died back in September and I never replaced it.... kicking myself for that one.

That sucks. He may not have even known he did it but like someone else said, the trucking company can check GPS and see that he was right there at that time. Make a note of the time and exact location and keep those pictures. Really sucks that you were just getting ready to leave. Good luck.

Off topic. I too have the merica flag sticker. I could be wrong but it looks like you need to peel off the backing on your merica stickers. See mine in pics

Yeah for some reason mine came out weird after the backing was removed at least in photos.

It's a 2.3l auto badlands sas with soft top in hot pepper red.

Here's a update no serious issues after getting hit. Only cosmetic just needed to pay for an alignment. It took it better then when it happened to my cruze 6 years earlier. That was 10k in damage.

Glad it was nothing major.

Not to defend the driver… but as someone who has their CDL and used to drive semis for a living… sometimes you can hit something and feel nothing, and because you have a ton of blind spots you often don’t see anything either. When you are driving a 40 ton rig and you hit something that is ~1 - 3 tons… obviously there is a gigantic weight disparity there.

One time I accidentally snagged a big metal dumpster with a chain attached to my lift gate and dragged it 4-5 blocks down the road before I realized what I have done. It was still my fault obviously—my truck my responsibility—but I had no idea and felt nothing.

Just a FYI, not all Trucks (especially independents) have GPS monitoring/tracking. Granted, they have a log, assuming you're able to "find" him.

Awesome! Mine's a 2.7 Auto, BL, SAS MIC 2 Door in White! Should be arriving in Albany area on 6/19 so hopefully arriving to Sarat by end of next week!

Retired police officer, you should always contact the police and report the incident,time and location with any other info you have. Even contact your insurance company with the same info. You never know how things can unfold. I would bet the driver never know he touched you. I,m glad your okay and damage looks minimal.

Glad it was just a flesh wound. I saw the Bronco that was T-boned by a suburban that ran a red light and that thing didn’t look too bad. These things are tough.
