Is there any ability to record the video from the 360° camera system?
It seems like that would make an awesome built-in dash cam,.

I know I would love it. In my current vehicle I installed a dual camera system. One facing forward and one mounted in the back looking to the rear. I saw on the accessories sheet there is a dual camera system available that appears to somehow use the Bronco's wiring. However it would be much cleaner if they simply added a small recorder to the 360° camera system.

Especially with "Cloud" applications, Bluetooth connectivity etc...

It was mentioned in previous information that this would be a thing, but being how Ford changes things from one day to the next, the final product information is a little more sketchy. Have they said it would include recording, yes, will it arrive that way, hard to say. Looking at you Picatinny rail, Roof racks on a 4 door, etc...

Technically it would be a rather easy thing to do. But will they??????? Let's hope so. I think a lot of people would want that. Especially if they stop and think about it for a minute. I wish I had it a few years ago when a guy decided he needed to be in my lane. It was his fault but it couldn't be proven.

I believe Ford would pass the idea past the lawyers first. Would any liability exist if the camera “caught” something it shouldn’t have or missed some you expected? Who would sue for damages?
I would love to see it; in the end, the lawyers make these types of decisions...

Considering there is a dashcam as an official Ford accessory with forward and rear facing cameras, this looks like we already know Ford's answer.

Kind of a side note, but reading through the Los Angeles Sheriff's press briefing on Tiger Wood's crash, they got a warrant to download his SUV's black box and used it as part of the accident investigation. This type of capability could also be gathered with a warrant. This could be good, or bad, depending on if you drive good or bad.

that's been done for years in accident recreations/Court and also the use of any dash cam video (front/rear-facing cameras). It's got my ass off a few close calls when I was on the ambulance and dealing with stupid drivers and got stories of others that you just went WTF LOL

Yup. The interesting thing here is that it would be in 360...which means side impact, etc. It could also be used by your insurance company (was it off-road, was it something stupid...)

the 360 isn't a running loop to my knowledge or Ford hasn't said it was running a loop while not activated. The only recording part I've read is that it will have something to do with the app itself. Guess time will tell us if it's a Loop, which could be very cool but unless the G's are tripped to record XX seconds, you'd need a HUGE storage for a short trail trip

Stop giving them ideas!!! LOL. There is likely an accelerometer in that electronics package somewhere, and we know it has angle and tilt!
