Ford Hard Tops Announcement: Delivered Tops Replaced, Unscheduled Orders Move to MY22

Ford has sent out an awareness communication about an upcoming customer satisfaction program: All Broncos delivered with an affected MIC hard top will be receiving a replacement. Additionally, all unscheduled hard top orders will move to MY22.

The Issue

The company states that certain 2021 Broncos equipped with a MIC hard top roof are experiencing roof panel delamination when exposed to extreme water and humidity. The issue, identified during quality inspections, relates to appearances and not functionality.

Delivered MIC Hard Top Broncos

On delivered Broncos, dealers will replace all hard top roof panels and install new rear quarter glass in the new rear cap. However, Ford says parts are not currently available to complete the required repair, and a complete dealer bulletin will be provided to dealers by the end of the 3rd quarter 2021, once the service kits become available.

Unscheduled MIC Hard Top Orders

A separate FAQ went out addressing unscheduled orders: Except for First Editions, all hard top customers without a current production scheduling date will be receiving a MY22 Bronco.

Soft Top Orders

Bronco orders with soft tops are not affected by this communication, whether your order is currently scheduled for production or not.
