If last week's stellar showing at SEMA is any indication, the Ford Bronco is the hottest off-road vehicle the industry has to offer, and it is about to get even hotter. Bronco Nation has managed to snag the best glimpse of the upcoming Ford Bronco Raptor, the first company-confirmed news related to the product, since Ford CEO and long-time enthusiast Jim Farley famously tweeted “Hold on to your butts.”
At an undisclosed location this past weekend, three members of the Bronco Nation team were summoned for an up-close look at the most anticipated Raptor since the launch of the brand in 2009.
The Bronco Raptor, available in the summer of 2022, is rumored to be equipped with a V-6 EcoBoost engine upgraded from the base offering. If this rumor is true, and if it shares the same level of improved horsepower of the F-150 Raptor, you could expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 horsepower –– not too shabby.
Sitting on 37s, the Bronco Raptor is taller from the factory than any of the current 6th-gen Broncos, and keeping with the trademark Raptor stance, much wider. Beefed-up suspension meets the iconic –– and often-copied –– front grille with the amber lights and more-aggressive exterior styling.
