🔥 TWIN BUTTES ADVENTURE LOOP


Join GCBA for an epic off-road weekend at Twin Buttes Reservoir!


Over 3,000 acres of rocky, sandy, and muddy terrain with river crossings, cactus patches, and mesquite brush – this is true West Texas wheeling!


📅 ITINERARY

Friday, Sept. 12:

• Travel day — check into your hotel or Airbnb in San Angelo

• Grab dinner with fellow early arrivers (optional meetup TBD)


Saturday, Sept. 13 (Main Ride Day):

• Meet at Walmart (5501 Sherwood Way) at 9:30 AM – fueled up and ready

• Roll out to the trail at 10:00 AM sharp

• Expect a full day of trail action looping around the reservoir

• Around 4:00 PM we’ll take a break

• Dinner at 5:00 PM – location shared during the ride

• Night ride optional – we’ll gauge interest at dinner 😁🤙


Sunday, Sept. 14:

• Recovery day – casual meetups or optional short trail run (depending on interest)

• Depart at your leisure

• Trails may include tight spots with mesquite trees – scratches are possible

Trail tools/ recovery gear if you have any

🎟 REQUIRED PERMITS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:


To drive, hike, fish, camp, or picnic in this area, you’ll need:

• OHV Permit ($16)

• Limited Public Use Permit ($12/year for ages 17+)


⚠️ Important Tip: These permits expire on August 31st, so DO NOT PURCHASE them until after that date or you'll have to buy them again. Set a reminder to get them in early September.
