I’m not familiar with that part of Michigan. I only found one motel in Arcadia (and it only had 1 vacancy requiring 2 nights lodging). However Manistee has several motels and is about a 30 minute drive south. I plan to stay at a Microtel Inn & Suites in Manistee. Hope that helps.

Manistee and Frankfort are both nice areas to stay in. Frankfort is North of Arcadia.

Thanks! I live just outside Detroit so I figured Manistee would be ”sorta” on the way.

How long before they send you more information? This will be my first trip. Would like to find out more of the exacts before I start looking some place to stay. I too am from just outside of Detroit. Not to familiar with that part of the state.

Excited for a drive in Michigan! There's a good number of campgrounds in the area within about 20-30 minutes, for those looking for accommodations.

Traverse City has many large chain hotels, since the ride ends there it may be a better option that Manistee.

Hi Jenna,

We are going to stay at the Hampton Inn in Manistee. It's about 30 minutes away. The event will end up in Traverse City but we are going to start heading back that evening and stay near the airport in Detroit.

I spent a lot of time there when I was younger. My family used to camp at the state park at Interlochen and that seemed like an ideal spot from which to venture into the area. At the right time of year you can catch performances at the Arts Camp. Sleeping Bear dunes is nearby. I prefer going a little further north of Arcadia and making my way back south. I just think you'll find more opportunities for rustic and natural beauty. I guess that I'm suggesting that you stay in TC, go south to Arcadia and return to TC for the end of the trip. I truly believe you'll have a terrific experience.

Haven't received a confirmation or route information for this event. I need to book the day off work and it will be an early start as myself and partner will be travelling from the north to join with this event for the day.
