I apologize if this is the wrong sub forum.

I recently got a 23' Bronco Sport 1.5l engine with the turbo. First turbo vehicle I've owned. I was around cummin turbo diesels before and was what I was used to hearing. I heard the "compression/turbo surge" and I freaked out thinking something was wrong. Took it in to be told it was a normal sound. Talked with a friend who knows more and he educated me on what the "surge" was and how it works. My question that I couldn't seem to find out on my own was, if the 1.5l engine has a Blow off valve stock installed, if so I imagine mine must not be working properly if I'm hearing the surge. If it doesn't come with one, which blow off valve would be best for my engine, like size and stuff.. forgive my ignorance..

The turbo on EcoBoost engines is designed right into the engine, not added on (I believe)…

I for one would not add anything (including a blow off) until I had the engine checked out at a dealership, but that’s just me…

Turbo is not integral to the engine, it's bolted on

If I had more time to think, I'm sure there is a good BLOW OFF corny joke in this thread.
