Front License Plate Bracket

Finally got my window sticker! Based on some info in these forums I was planning to get an after-market front license plate that avoids any drilling, shifts the plate off-center a bit (HD Modular bumper).

On my sticker it lists “front license plate bracket”. This is probably a dumb question but with the modular bumper are they sending a bracket that avoids the need to drill? Should I still get the one I planned to buy?

The front license plate bracket drills into the trim piece below the grill but above the bumper.

It does not come pre-installed, typically it is something the dealer installs during their pre-delivery inspection if it is required in your state. If you don’t want it installed and rather use your own bracket, make sure you let your dealer know after it gets shipped. And if at all possible remind them the day it comes in.

I asked my dealer nicely to not install it and they told me they don’t pre install the front plate. It was in the glove box when I picked it up.

I bought the one from built right industries (https://builtrightind.com/products/license-plate-mount-ford-bronco-2021-w-steel-bumper) and then just used the factory bolts to mount it to the bumper. It’s a little tight on the recovery point but looks nifty and doesn’t block my aftermarket fog lights.

That’s EXACTLY how I’d like mine - definitely want to add the fog lights

2 questions:
1) what are the existing bolt holes intended for that this bracket would be taking the place of?

2) how much clearance do you lose with this placement? Looks like it hangs a few inches lower than anything else on the truck?

I am not going to put the pocket fogs on my Badlands. I bought PIAA fogs I will put on top of the bumper where you have the lic bracket. I like the look you have with the bracket on top. Maybe I will put fogs on the A pillar instead. Not sure if fogs are good that high up though

I don't have an answer on the modular bumper, but on the capable bumper the plate comes off really easy for off-roading if it's hanging too low.

If you actually want to use the fogs for what they are intended for, then the pillars would not be the ideal position. I've always heard lower the better.

Yeah man to each their own! I had a 4Runner with ditch lights on the A pillars and they were SO NOISY at highway speeds I'll never do that again though.

Looks like you got your Bronco already. I’m still waiting for my 2dr. Might have to order for the 3rd MY soon. The good news is that I will have a chance to order Heritage ED.

Yes, I've had it a few weeks now. I was debating whether to wait for a Heritage or not. I also really wanted the Painted Mod top but decided the 2 year wait was plenty long for me.

I originally ordered the black painted hardtop. I should get thousand dollars worth of FordPass points. I wonder if they cancel that if I actually get the painted hardtop?

Hmmm, great question. Do you have the original email they sent out where they stated you would get the points?
I'm not sure how they worded it.

I did copy the email. I can’t look yet as I still have a chance to get a 22 MY. Don’t know if ford stopped building 22’s.
