Doesn’t seem like good business to me. MIC hard top, HOSS 4 suspension, 37 inch tires. How can Ford start taking orders and promise to start delivery of these vehicles this summer when they can not seem to fill the orders for those who have been waiting for over a year?
My understanding is that the MIC hard top and the Sasquatch package are 2 of the major delays in filling current orders. It would seem that if Ford can get the Raptor up and running, then they should be able to meet the orders of loyal customers that have been patiently waiting since 2020.
Can someone please explain how this works?
Hi Lanny,
Valid thoughts, so we asked Bronco brand manager Esteban Plaza-Jennings about it on our latest livestream. I’ll summarize his points, but you can listen to his response here: https://youtu.be/jwZ0iQMv97I?t=307. Esteban says they expect the majority of MY22 Bronco Raptor orders to come from order holders, since they are offering them the ability to get one first. Ford has been increasingly ramping up production, and while some of the commodities you’ve listed have been constraints, they’re doing so much better at turning these out. So, in essence, MY22 Bronco Raptors are just an order change out of existing volume that needs to be met. Additionally, Ford sees it as a “thank you” to people who HAVE been waiting.
