Howdy everyone, I was just wondering if anyone from the community is going to the Texas Bronco Off Roadeo on 13 June 2026. Also, I'm particularly interested if anyone has any suggestions like what to bring, things to do in the area, etc. etc. I plan to be there and I'm excited to see what they offer.

As far as the recommended place to stay, the Horsehoe Bay Resort seems a bit ridiculous. While the place appears to be nice, they really want $2000 for two nights, a shuttle to take me to the event, and breakfast -- at least, that's what the lady quoted me when I called. I decided to stay at one of the hotels in Marble Falls. Apparently, there's something going on in the area that weekend, and it's causing all the hotels to increase their prices... but still not to the level of the "recommended hotel."

Many thanks!

I've stayed at Horseshoe Bay, and it's really nice, but the real experience for me is Off-Roadeo, so I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

I'd bring a small backpack with your essentials (medication, sunglasses, sunblock, phone charger, etc.). They have snacks and water available throughout the day, but it doesn't hurt to bring a few things you like. Wear sturdy boots and bring a hat, wear clothes that feel comfortable if it is hot, and save some room in your suitcase/Bronco for merch!

Don't be shy about calling out answers to your guide's questions, too, so you can get special stickers.

Awesome, thanks for the response! Instead of dropping that dough on the resort, I plan to spend that much on Bronco merch. 😊

Check out this link. There is a lot to do in the area. Longhorn Cavern is awesome and takes about half a day. And, go by Blue Bonnet Cafe. You will not be disappointed.

Yes bluebonnet cafe is a must. We have been to the Texas off-roadeo twice and both times we stayed in the travel trailer at kingsland slab RV. The slab is a cool place to take a swim or just put your feet in the water. You can also check out hidden falls it is on the east side of marble falls its a pay to play off road park that has some fun trails.

Definitely going to build the Blue Bonnet Cafe into the schedule. @Jakob1972, your pictures of Hidden Falls look fun. I may have to plan a return trip to the area with the four B's -- Bronco, beer, buds, and bit.... umm yeah, you probably get the idea. Thanks for the info!

I will be there the 13th, lots of good suggestions already, the Holiday Inn express and the LA Quinta in Marble Falls are good suggestions if HSB is pricey. I
am local to the area and personally feel the Bluebonnet is over rated, Le Steorgeons in Cottonwood Shores is good, as are most of the Tex. Mex joints. Coopers BBQ in Llano is amazing, and as good if not better than the big name places in Austin. Hidden Falls is also great, most the time trail rides are pretty easy to get together with one of the Local Bronco Clubs.

We just got back from it a few weeks ago, best day ever! We stayed at a local AirBnb for the night before, then did the Off Roadeo, then after the dinner we headed to Fredericksburg...over 200 wineries! (50 minutes away) and stayed a few days there. Luke was a great guide!

Here is my tips: Not just for Texas Off Roadeo.

1) Grab the lead Bronco when you choose yours for the day.
When we went to the Off Roadeo, we got in the front Bronco at the beginning and we stayed that way all day. Why tell you this? Your Off Roadeo guide will not walk everything, and they are not driving. So, by grabbing the first Bronco in line, by default, we had the guide riding with us for a couple few portions of the day, which was cool bc we got a little more discussion out of it. Both about the Off Roadeo and about local things, that was not part of the radio chatter with everybody else.
Was kind of kewel.

2) You will find that the have swag and apparel available. Some of the stuff is not available anywhere else!! Some is going to be location specific, and those are obvious, but some of the pins I have not been able to find again after the Off Roadeo. Just a heads up.

Intermediate off road driver. We learned quite a bit. And enjoyed the whole day.

Wow, many thanks for the great advice, and I look forward to meeting you @Conoger. The BlueBonnet may be overrated, but I will probably still give it a go; however, I might also try the other places you suggest. I have a good college buddy from Llano, and he used to take us to Cooper's every time we were in the area... so, I've had it and can attest to its legendary status, but it's been a little while. $2000 for two nights in a hotel: absolutely, positively, no way in hell (unless I'm trying to impress a woman 😉)... but, $2000 for Bronco merch: no problem, that's an entirely different matter. I probably won't spend that much, but I might.

I am about 53 miles south and west of Marble Falls. I agree Bluebonnet is a bit overrated but it is an experience and well… pie. It’s like going to the original salt lick not great but a good place to hang out. We did try Bear King Brewing last year or so and as long as you don’t get the goat cheese it was pretty good. Opie’s BBQ in Spicewood is pretty good. But if you want change your life kind of BBQ you have to try Micklethwait BBQ in east Austin. Since I don’t work in Austin anymore I have not been in a few years but that was some good BBQ. On par with La Barbecue and Franklin but usually a shorter line. I believe they are only open Thursday through Sunday. I would say Cooper’s in Llano is comparable to Style Switch or Blacks BBQ in Austin or Blanco BBQ in San Antonio. My coworkers and I had a Sumer where we tried as many of the BBQ joints on the Texas Monthly top 50 and several that weren’t.

Bear king actually closed in March.

So many fine eating establishments among other endeavors... one doesn't know what to do, but I'll figure it out on my short three-day visit to the area. Thanks everyone for all the great tid-bits of info. I look forward to what else I can learn in the coming few days but, most importantly, I can't wait for the actual Roadeo!

I stayed in Llano when I went. Nice little town but mostly because it was getting late and I hadn't made a plan of where to stay.

If you haven't been through the Texas Hill Country, you can do that drive while you're there. It's really just a drive out in the country with a lot of dirt roads and a river crossing.

As far as what to take, we got a water bottle and there are snacks there. I took a GoPro and recorded a lot of the
obstacles. I don't like being responsible for carrying around snacks and bags and all that so I left them in my car. Insect repellent, pants, and substantial shoes would be ideal.

The store there has most of its items listed here. If you have Ford points, you used to be able to convert them to a gift card to use there so that's an option. I called them once to ask about stopping in to buy merchandise and they said that wasn't allowed. I was in that area a few weeks later, drove up, and bought some stickers without any issue.

In the area, there's Hidden Falls Adventure Park and Concan Adventure Trails near Garner.
