Was just out in Nevada at the Mt. Potosi Raptor Off Roadeo. What an ASS KICKIN' time we had! I've been wheelin' since I was a kid and really didn't expect that much but man, I was wrong. The whole team was excellent - a hearty thanks to Dave, Blake, Paul and Travis. I think the best part for me was the hot laps around the Ultra4 track....the Braptor is one damn amazing truck at high speeds off road, you don't feel the weight - it feels light on it's feet the faster you go. Using all the tech available in the truck - especially one touch pedal, trail control and trail turn assist was eye opening.
I would STRONGLY suggest Ford make this a "pay in" event and allow people to go back for more - it's a shame it's one trip per VIN purchased. I would also suggest offering different levels of instruction from newb through competitor. Even just a package deal that lets you run the U4 course all day would be a hoot....perhaps letting the drivers vie for low time!
The trucks we were in had like 7K miles on them - all of that mileage getting whipped at the Roadeo. Aside from from some chewed up wheels and sliders, the trucks felt TIGHT and everything working as it should. If I learned anything, I learned the Bronco Raptor is OVERBUILT.
If you go, hike Red Rock Canyon which is right around the corner and check out the town of Blue Diamond - Cottonwood Station Eatery had great local IPAs and an ass kicking pizza selection in addition to a slammin' beer pretzel.
