Off Roadeo Insurance

I'm heading to the TN Off-Roadeo in October and was wondering if the $75 insurance coverage was worth the expense? Specifically, has anyone attending the Off-Roadeo had to use the insurance to cover any damages to the vehicle while attending the event? How often does it happen during events, and is it limited to the driver only?

I'm usually not big on insurance, but if the vehicles break often, then I'll probably pony up (pun intended).

Peace of mind, and I purchased it, but if you stay with the group and follow instructions, you might get by without it…

Did NH, did not buy insurance. No one there needed it that day, and I have not seen a post here or on the other site where anyone needed it. Takes a lot of damage to go over the $3500 deductible...

I just did the NH one today. No insurance No problem. They are not punishing you for simple scratches or hitting your skids. It’s mainly if you dent or damage the “shiny” parts.

I asked my insurance agent before I attended in New Hampshire. He said I was covered. I didn't buy it. FWIW, I asked the trail guide if they had ever had major damage, or break downs from all of the trail use. As of Sept 2022, his answer was no.

Yea. I'm thinking they haven't had any issues with claims. It's kind of weird they offer an off-road experience, where they train you to handle difficult trail set ups, and then charge you back for putting you in those situations. If things go bad, shouldn't the onus be on Off-Roadeo, and not the student? I'm thinking "Harvey Spector" from "Suits" should be able to beat that in court😄

I'd guess that the insurance offer is the result of lawyers. Perhaps they anticipate a "Jackass" type situation where someone attends the Off Roadeo, and goes rouge.

Just did moab and didn't get it. I figured they're not going to take you anywhere the bronco can't easily go. We had a woman in our group who scrapped the whole side of the bronco she was driving on a cedar tree when it was easy to miss it and nothing was said about it when they looked them over at the end of the day. 🤷‍♂️

You'd be surprised how quickly you'll go past that $3500.
I hit a deer in July. had to have the drivers front fender & front door skin replaced, along with the entire drivers side mirror. With labor & paint (including blending the hood & rear door) I was over 6k for what was honestly not that bad.

You will not need insurance, unless you are planning on doing something crazy beyond the guides instruction. I have participated in Las Vegas and Austin so far.

I was just in Austin last week, I would recommend this location. There is a great amount of trails and different technical features.

I'm also going to TN next month and purchased the $75 waiver today. Peace of mind for me.
