General Questions about Off-Roadeo, Vegas

Vegas is the closest location to me so I will be going to this one. I do, however, have some concerns and just want to make sure I won't be an undue burden to the guides/my guide.

I have anxiety and a lot of it is around driving. I do a little better as a driver than I do as a passenger. Things that make me the most anxious are drop offs/plunges where it's several hundred feet down, especially when it's also curvy. I have never had to "tap out" from driving on them but honestly they freak me out. If you want an example of the two that were the worst, driving up to Ice House campgrounds (the climb up the mountain) and the Los Angeles National Forest Highway (parts not all). I was white knuckled on LA National Forest Highway but I made it through. I do NOT want to be a burden or stress to my guide. I really want to go. I have never been in an accident that was caused by my anxiety and I do not panic in a way that makes me do stupid things with the vehicle. I can keep my cool even if I'm mid panic because anything other than calm is a danger to both myself and the drives/etc around me. I just don't want to be an emotional burden to my guide, if that makes sense. Are there other anxious people who have gone to Off-Roadeo and if yes how was that experience? I find that doing "the scary thing" often makes it a lot less scary in the future which is why I want to go do "the scary thing", my anxiousness in driving has vastly improved over the last several years as I continue to push myself to drive the "scary" roads.

The other question I have is if there's any designated smoking areas?

I haven't been to the Vegas one, we did Texas, since it was driving distance away. Having said that, my wife is similar, but was the passenger. I don't think once we got started, she even noticed much when we 3 wheeled it, except the one time it was VERY obvious, lol. YouTube search for some videos, I bet there are many, get a feel of their layout.

My wife and i just attended the Vegas Off Roadeo January 23rd, so good timing. My wife was anxious leading up to it, but loved the experience. It was primarily my trip and experience, she was along for the ride, but she says it's one of the best experiences we've had together (23 years married). To your main concern about big, exposed dropoffs, we didn't experience that at all - the property is tucked in a little valley in the hills/mountains, and I would say the closest part to being exposed was a tight turn going uphill where they have you use the trail turn assist to make the corner, but the other side wasn't anything close to a cliff or steep drop off that should set off any alarm bells. The main heart pumpers we experienced was learning to use hill assist down a steep, but short, hill, so it doesn't last long. And using cruise control on a similar, steep uphill, but i'm not a daredevil and those looked more intimidating then they ended up actually being. My wife confirmed that although the course can be extreme in terms of holes, dips and rock gardens, hilly, tight turns and narrow trails, exposure (cliff edges) is not an issue. Also, our guides were fantastic (Magic Mike), and although no one in our group had to bail out, we have no doubt that if someone truly started to panic before an obstacle, that the guides would allow them to sit that one out. I hope that helps, we truly had a blast and have said we'd love to do another one even if we had to pay full price. Dealing with anxiety myself, i know you'll still feel it as anticipation is always the worst part of it, but I can tell you it's worth it in the end - truly a fun experience with great people. Best of luck.
PS: No idea about smoking, i didn't see anyone puffing heaters on our day.

The guides in Vegas are great and the course I don't think would be scary. Although, I have no fear of off roading and have done some difficult things in Moab I believe you will enjoy the Vegas trip and will learn a great deal. Some of what you learn might even help you control the anxiety.

Go for it!

I also attended Las Vegas on 1/23/2026 and it was a great experience. As to your concerns…There is nothing like that at the Las Vegas Off-Roadeo. And the trail guides are great at instruction and answering any questions. My trail guide, Danny, was great!!

Attended the Nov 22nd Off-Rodeo in Las Vegas. There are some steep uphill sections and some off camber tippy type of trails. I'd been out in the Bronco to Hungry Valley before the Off-Rodeo. Off-Rodeo does have some tippy rock crawling, but it was down in a gully so no real worries there. If you go with someone you could jump out on the tough sections, but I highly recommend it.

I did the Vegas Off-Roadeo experience in April 2025 and it was one of the best experiences of my life! I get anxious with that kind of thing too, but the guides are SO HELPFUL and make you feel very confident. I learned so much about my Bronco--the more they explained, the safer I felt. Everyone gets a radio so they literally talk you through everything. The guide will also ride with the first Bronco. If you're going alone and would feel better about it, you can ask to have the guide in the passenger seat with you. I went with my husband and were the 4th or 5th in line, and we had the best time! Having the radio in the Bronco with you makes you feel like you're not just left in the dust to fend for yourself. GO! It really is the experience of a lifetime and I truly think it will help your anxiety, not hurt it. :)

You'll do great; I don't love heights and steep inclines/declines yet, but as long as you listen to your guide (i.e., don't actively hear what they say and choose to go against it), you can know you're safe and the Bronco can handle it all.

Talk to your guide about your concerns at the beginning, so they know how to best help you overcome concerns. You won't be a burden, and honestly, you're the kind that are the most fun to get in a group, because the day is made for camaraderie and cheering each other on. Everyone will feel excited and happy for you.

And always, if you absolutely don't want to do something, you can say no. But if you can, try. The pride after is worth it!

Also, @AngelaRick, I just messaged my teammates at Off-Roadeo for an official answer on smoking areas. I'll let you know!
