How do you want to stay at King of the Hammers 2023?

Ok so we won't be renting you all hotel rooms, but we do want to see if you have a preference on how you want to stay at King of the Hammers.

Tents were a little cold last year, and we want to make Basecamp as accessible as possible. Would you like:

  • a tent anyway, 'cuz you run at Sasquatch temps
  • an RV trailer, because you don't want to SMELL like a Sasquatch. EDIT: changing to camper trailers. Warm and quiet, but you might be looking at wet wipes or KOH shower slots.
  • to bring your own overlanding setup

Pick from this list or suggest something I forgot!

I second on RV/aka camper trailer…
But if I can’t arrange a trailer, tent camping is just fine with me…

But I don’t care if I’m forced to sleep under a rock….I am soooo excited… thanks Laura for all you do

When and where is it? I'm not much into camping, so I wonder if i could drive there for the day (I'm in Sacramento), spend the day watching and shooting it - then drive home after?

For those who havent been to KOH, tent camping.... I do not recommend whatsoever. KOH is like if burning man and a nascar race had a baby that was awake and screaming 24 hour a day for 11 days.

Johnson Valley, Feb 2- 11. We're going to come out the second week; the first week is time trials, etc.

Having accommodations available for all three options might not be a bad idea.

I'll stay in my nice bed, thank you very much. I've bivouacked in one too many sand boxes...although camping with a "safety fence"; now that's security. 😄 😊 😕 😟 😭

Ha, well not to scare anyone away, but people do get injured at KOH, so that snow fencing really does do a lot in keeping our crowd from having to be on their toes while at "home" 😓 😬

As soon as I hear burning man and a nascar race, I knew this wasn’t for me. I hosted a bunch of NASCAR and got my fill. I will watch and enjoy videos! Have fun and awesome how Bronco Nation is stepping up!

I was going to suggest this. Or maybe a mix of camper trailers and a "bring-your-own". A lot of people have really slick camping/overlanding setups, and I'm sure they'd be more comfortable and happy with their own setup. You'd just probably have to put some sensible size limitations for the bring-your-own crowd. Cause I know someone is going to show up with their 53' RV trailer if you don't. 😉

(Although as it stands right now I won't be able to go 😭 , so my vote shouldn't count.)

All votes count! Yes, last year we set up tents and let people park their own rvs/use their overlanding setups

I wouldn't want to make that trip with a camper from ATL either... I made the trip without one and can't see it with a camper in tow.

There's a good chance I'll have my own Bronco by the time KOH happens. I like the idea of camping for a few days. That said, I don't have a tent, so if Bronco Nation could provide one I'm all in. However, I'm confused by what @jparker said. He said that camping there was like staying with a screaming baby for days, but then described Bronco Nation's area as an oasis of peace. It sounds contradictory. Is that area away from the madness and mayhem? If the BN does offer tents, are they heated? Do they have water and electrical hookups? I can skip showering for a couple of days if I must. What's the closest town with hotel accommodations? Palm Springs?
Chris here. I drive a Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and automatic transmission.
