Hi Everyone,
I'm having difficulty with my Rooftop Rigid Radiance light bar. I direct wired the red wire to my #1 upfitter switch, the black is grounded, and the white wire to my #2 upfitter switch. My #3 upfitter are my Rigid A-Pillar lights, #4 are my bumper lights, #5 are my Rigid bullbar mounted lights, and #6 is my bullbar lights amber backlight. The light bar on switch #1 works perfect. However, I can't get any backlight on my upfitter #2. Am I missing something in wiring the white directly to the upfitter? Is there something that I need to add to make the backlight work. Thanks!!!

Don't know 'bout separate wiring & switch for backlights. Here's video to use factory switching with headlight adapter. John's wire harnesses are top tier .

No, Not using a wiring harness. Direct wired as I did with my other lights.

What did you do with the blue wire?

Wires coming from the light bar: White, Red, Black. Ran Red to upfitter yellow wire (switch 1), Ran white to Upfitter grn/brn wire (switch 2), black wire to ground. Light bar works perfect on switch 1 but nothing on switch 2. I am not using the wiring harness from Rigid. Do I need to add anything to the backlight wiring to get it to function?

Maybe send a PM to @SlashRacer, I know that he has a Rigid light bar. Not sure which one though. He will be an excellent resource for you.

The wiring diagram that I posted shows a blue wire - can you post a pic or 2 of the wire harness that you didn’t use?

It may require constant power…

Do not use the factory wire ran up the pillar for the light bar. Uplifter 1 is a 30amp circuit and the preran wiring is not sized correctly.

I put a relay under the hinder and ran a 10 gauge wire up the pillar for my light bar.

Ran wires directly into engine bay and wire directly to yellow wire for upfitter 1 to power main light. White was to Grn/Brn in engine bay for backlight which isn't working. Makes me think that the white wire is just a control wire and needs power and ground.

Just spoke with Tech Suppot at Rigid. It seems that Ford Performance parts manufactured by Rigid have had the backlighting components deleted from the light bar per Ford's request. So the White wire does not control anything.

I had heard that was the case for the ditch lights but it appears it is for all Ford Rigid lights.

I believe only the Ford Performance Rigid lights. If you buy standard Rigid lights, I believe they have the regular backlighting option.
