Has anyone else had Ford install a winch on front bumper? My ford dealer did and now a warning light and crash warning comes on. Dealer said that during the install they attempted to stop that from happening using their scan tool but it errored and didnt work . They said they could choose winch installation and it was supposed to stop those sensors from working but it definitely didnt. Anyone else out there know what to do?

Turn off the messages. I believe you do that through the settings on your 12 or 8 inch screen.

Not sure of your winch location, type of or vehicle package. I know that some of the Bronco configurations will cause you problems if you have a winch installed due to their bumper sensors. I'm not sure if that is only an issue with the stock bumper or if the Heavy Modular bumper has the same issue. You would think that the Ford dealer would know these details and be able to steer you in the right direction for the type of winch, bumper and install requirements. I hope you get it figured out without any headaches. Please keep every one posted on your findings and progress.

Cant install a winch on the basic bumper only the MOD bumper has the capabilities for bolt-on.

My guess is that the winch sticking out in front of the bumper impedes the sensor view to the side which is throwing the message

Ah, the winch thing. It's rather frustrating to me that ford would sell a ford/win branded winch that bolts on without modification, except that it impedes the accand sensors. I'm removing factory bumper and having an aftermarket installed that is compatible with all the gadgets. I wanted to stay "stock" but alas...

We drove a demo that had this winch installed, so I know where you’re coming from. Made it almost undriveable with all the pop ups and warnings and rendered the front camera useless. Until a better solution, can you just turn off the parking sensors (button next to auto stop)?

WildTrac Lux Package
Ah bingo... I had a good feeling that was the reason.

The winch isn't compatible with the Lux package. That's your problem. Here is the requirements for the winch—
  • Signature Lightning is required (that is an optional add-on for Big Bend. Standard on Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak)
  • The modular front bumper is required
  • It is NOT compatible with the Lux package on any trim

Because of those requirements, it is impossible to install the winch on Base, Black Diamond and First Edition. For all the other trims, you just need to make sure you have signature lighting, mod bumper upgrade, and no Lux package.

Unfortunately I tried looking that up in the owners manual and didn't find an answer. We have to turn off the parking sensors when we tow with the F150 and per the Bronco owners manual it's similar.
