Anyone remove the wheel well liners on a 2021 BL. I don't see how without destroying the fasteners. Want to install some rock lights and want to run wiring on top of liner

You should get yourself one of these kits - great for all kinds of panel, trim & fastener removal

- 2023 Raptor / Shadow Black / MGV (DOB 8/30/23)
- 2023 Heritage Limited Edition / Robin’s Egg Blue / 4dr / (stolen from my dealer 11/15/23)

Fasteners are also available at most any auto parts store.

Thanks, I got them all out, I guess after the screw parts get all glued together with mud all you can do is pry then out. Bought fasteners to replace any that are to loose on reinstall. Just once I would like to see an install video that wasn't already pre disassembled prior to the video.

There’s a portion of this video that shows the liner removal. Looks like the fasteners are a bit finicky to remove…
Thought I’d share here for others, also this looks like a decent option to clean up that wheel well and improve clearances…

2021 badlands, 2.3, MT, rapid red, soft top

Thanks, they should come out relatively easily, when new but, after getting mud and dirt in there they are harder. I replaced the old ones with new but I had problems getting correct size, should be for 6 mm hole with the diameter of the fasteners is 6.3 but it seems Chinese crap from Amazon is just 6mm. LOL

I just pulled mine to run winch and lighting wiring and find the trick is you’ve got to pull them out slightly with a trim tool at the base, then the “threads” will engage and you can back the screw (aka pin) out enough to get it out then the base comes out easy with the trim tool. If you don’t pull the base out the threads won’t engage and the entire thing will spin in the hole.

Very true but most of mine the pins wouldn't unscrew no matter how much you tried, most I just had to pry out. Tabs on fenders are thin also, easy to bend

I have rock lights and never have used them fir off-roading. Seems like not very often people go on night runs. I have used them more to light up the sides of the truck to get in and out. I think i would have put lights on the roof rack to shine down instead. Good luck wiring is fun.

Rock lights were great for working on wheel liners. But an engine light is a must
