Location of air conditioner condensate drain on firewall?

My A/C is starting smell funky, a problem I had with my Escape.
I bought a can of coil cleaner, but you are supposed to use it by inserting a hose up the drain tube into the evaporator box. But, I can’t find the drain outlet. I assume it’s somewhere towards the passenger side, on the firewall, but there’s so much crap down there that I can’t get a good look. And, I suspect it might be buried behind the fender liner or some heat shielding.
Does anyone know exactly where it is, and happen to have a photo?

@3Dogs try checking your cabin filter. It’s behind the glove box. Mine had that same funky smell. Just like my Edge, Escape and now my Explorer also. It is amazing how disgusting they get, especially down here in AZ.

Thanks. I replaced it yesterday, and thought that I could get to the evaporator coil that way, but there’s no way to access it. I’ll see if it makes a difference today. I really think it’s mildew - I start to smell it when the A/C has been running on high and then shuts down -like on auto stop/start.

Well, I’ve searched from the top and the bottom, and I can’t see it. I suspect it’s hidden behind some heat shielding. I’m giving up. The A/C still smells funky, but it’s not terrible.

I know I hear it sizzling when I park and the passenger side is ever so slightly higher. I guess it is just to the passenger side of the exhaust on a 2.3l. but that also could be the condensation on the filter dryer.
