Lamest Question Ever-Bronco Hitch Cover t

I have finally gotten my Bronco Hitch rubber cover (part ending 17F000-C). For the life of me I cannot get it on so it stays flush with the whole hitch. Here is what I did: You put the hole part over the top of the hitch with the nub underneath. Then you put the actual cap over the opening. However, when you do that open square does not either go up far enough or back enough so the actual cover doesn't stay flush on the back. Called Ford parts guy and he has no idea either. Anyone have one of these and can at least get it working right. Thanks!

Maybe trim that piece on the bottom of the open square piece. Might be holding it forward.

Is this similar to what you have? It's hard to see what it looks like behind the Bronco.

It is but 2 things, their is that weird nub at the bottom that just doesn't have a home and B) when you bend the rubber at the top to to big and so the top doesn't go all the way in..

Is the nub a hole? Or is it blocked off? If it's blocked off it might be a place to secure your wire harness connector. 4 pin connector.
