The OEM location is to use the factory mount and drill it into the painted trim piece between the grill and the bumper. Works fine, but if you don't want to do that it depends on which bumper you have.
If you have the standard steel bumper (aka: capable bumper), there are two options I'm aware of:
I've used both. Personally I think
@HBTFD's solution looks the best, but it definitely interferes with the approach angle while off-roading, and I've personally already clobbered one of his plate mounts before with a rock. The BuiltRight mount doesn't have that issue, and the entire mount can easily be removed just by loosening the 15mm bolt holding on the skid plate. The downside is the BuiltRight mount is off-center and looks a bit goofy (in my opinion).

If you have the heavy-duty modular bumper, there are
tons of options available. BuiltRight and
@HBTFD both have options for the modular bumper, as do a bunch of other companies such as DV8 Offroad, Greenlane Off-road, etc. There is also a plethora of random license plate mounts on Amazon that'll work.
