So, when I was going to purchase my Bronco, Badlands with Sasquatch and Lux package, the first vehicle I wanted, supposedly was sold, so they found me another, which also was unavailable…?? The third one I was convinced/settled on did not have a trailer hitch. The window sticker shows this to be a $750 option. Wow, I thought that was steep. I pull a small trailer regularly and need the hitch. The sales people and the manager, said it’s no big deal, it’s a plug and play hitch. The sales guy told me to go to U-Haul, where you can buy and install one for $200. After believing all of that and getting the hitch installed at U-Haul… I found, Yup, the wiring was there and the hitch looked good installed. However, when I hooked up my trailer I found I had no turn signal lights. Long story short… When checking with Ford they told me that I needed to program the hitch and buy an additional trailer module. Why would you put the wiring to the hitch position, supposedly “prewired”, and have that wiring go into an empty void? I don’t get it. The cost to have had the dealership install it is over $1k! That’s crazy! So now, the dealership I bought the vehicle claims no responsibility and I will be out nearly $1k! Never would I believe that to be the cost for a trailer hitch on a “OFFROAD” vehicle!
