I know ford will not do it but....

I see so many wanting a v8 under the hood of the new bronco but fords 5.0l being a dohc racing engine style does not fit well or at all really. It would be nice to see a really advanced OHV engine that could fit in the bay. Kinda like a base engine with alot of torque and hp but not going crazy expensive. They already brought back the 7.3 which is probably too big and heavy for this but maybe a 6.0l would be good here or smaller?

Just a thought

I own both a 5.8 and 5.0 Bronco. The 5.0 is a little under powered but since I have a manual transmission on that one it isn't an issue. When i put a six inch lift, full Detroit locker , and ran 35" mud terrains on the 5.8 it was a little bit of a dog.... but a re gear to 4:56 solved the issue and she runs like a champ. I also have owned 2 Ford focus and I'm really impressed with the 2.0 power plant. I'm looking forward to seeing how a 2.7 performs with the turbo, and a 7 speed manual.

With all that being said...... Ford won me over with their 8 cylinders and 300 6 cylinder..... so less displacement does not make me that happy...… but they have to appease the tree huggers and...... I do think 15MPG is even an option anymore.

A 6.0 with what block? A clean sheet design?

V8 Bronco is not happening. Never was part of the plan, is not currently planned, and it’s never going to happen unless you plan on wasting $25k on a swap. Which if you are planning on doing I tell you what, I’ll take $10k instead and sit behind you wherever you go and make V8 engine noises in your ear.

The sooner people get this fantasy of a V8 being in this vehicle out of their heads the better, but I already know the amount of crying about it once the reveal is here is only going to get louder.

The idea of V8 in the 6G bronco was shot down as early as 2017 if I remember right. Plus as it's based on next gen ranger a mid size truck, it won't fit a lot of engine, and 7.3 won't even fit a f150 for reference. Like Nick says it's not happening

There is a better chance of a full size Bronco, as in one on the F150 platform, than a V8 getting shoe-horned into the mid-size Bronco from the factory. And that probably isn't going to happen either. People are going to be disappointed about both of those things.

We have a full size bronco... in a way. The 4-door is pretty close in size to a FSB, and the 2 door will be like an EB. Make everybody happy.

Oh I know. I made a post about this. The new Bronco midsize is almost the same size as a 1996 Bronco. The F150 platform was much smaller back then. But there are still people that are highly disappointed that the new Bronco isn't based on the current F150 platform. There sort of already is. It's called an Expedition. LOL

Can't please everyone

The 7.3 is smaller than the Coyote. Its not crazy heavy either, with standard engine swap tweaks of moving engine compartment weight ,the difference probably won't be bad. You have to weigh a 2.7 and all the associated turbo hardware.
There is a firm in Australia that is going to put Coyotes in Rangers.I'm watching for progress on it.

We all know the V8 isn’t happening but driving the F150 ECO Boost I think it will be fine. I have a 5.8 in my 95 and the Coyote V8 in my 17 F150 and love them both!!! 095DA416-2D25-4D2A-9525-89F6C36E44E4.jpeg

The new bronco is going to be a mom wagon with 7” of wheel travel - I’m a huge bronco lover but short of the looks this thing is going to suck horribly compared to a wrangler

Jeep is already making changes in response to the Bronco's features, this is a good thing, Jeepers will get better equipped Jeeps because the competition from the Bronco and vice versa.
and the biggest thing is the Bronco guys stuck driving Jeeps can now buy a Bronco.

Well with 7” of wheel travel it won’t be where a Jeep can go- sorry the bronco is a mall crawler at best
