I know CAFE requirements cripple manufacturers fuel capacities, but with only 16.9 gallons 2DR and 20.8 gallons 4DR I am eyeballing 60 gallon replacement tanks available for the Ranger.
Multiple 4-5 gallon cans in makeshift racks/holders look the overlanding lifestyle, but don't even begin to compare to internal volume, range and the lower center of gravity a larger tank provides. Not to mention ease of use and no smelly gas-hands in the cab. I have an 23 gallon aux tank now totaling 42 gallons on board, one of my favorite most performance enhancing upgrades I have ever done.
16.9 gallons range will only decrease as gear is added, truck lifted and MT tires making more resistance.
Wish there was a factory option, so how low will it take for third parties to have replacement/aux tanks for the new Broncos?
Are you interested? Do you like the smell of gas on your hands and gear?:)
