AC power outlet is in the wrong spot

They do, but it's a cigarette plug.

Used to have that same issue with my Excursion except it was the cigarette plug. Terrible design.

I believe that one is just for passengers.

My truck has one in dash and one rear console. I think one rear console and one in rear bed makes more sense in bronco.

Probably would have made sense to put one out back, and the next model year probably will have that. What are you looking to run? Depending on some AUX switch AMP ratings (if you get that option) you might be able to wire in a power inverter and have an outlet where ever you'd wish.

My expedition has that same location for it, and with the seats folded and gear on top I can just reach my hand around underneath and plug it in. It is not in an ideal spot, but still can be plugged in with the seats down. Is it easy to get to from the back, no. It still is functional, yes.
